FIA Pro Modified qualifying session 2

Olof Andersson 16.7638/72.39 v Micke Johansson 14.8578/75.67, both spun the tyres at the hit and lifted, nevertheless an improvement for Olof and a time on the boards for Micke. Marcus Perman 15.7604/67.71 car made a move to the right at 100ft and he lifted v Ĺke Persson 7.3049/274.81 kept on it despite moving around to get a time. Make no mistake, this is being a tricky track for Pro Mods.

Andreas Sjödin 7.8036/196.58 v Michel Tooren 6.0077/394,45, nice run for Michel 0.9955 to 60ft and 3.9904/310.17 to half track, into #1 for Michel. Andres Arnover 6.2207/388.21 (0.9996 60ft) v Jimmy Alund 6.0874/380.55 (0.9968 60ft). It is now looking like a tuners' game.

Jan Ericsson 12,4577/37.78 DQ crossed centre line v Andreas Arthursson 5.8563/389.05. Nice run for Andreas but all eyes on Jan whose Camaro made a big move to the right, got into a pendulum and tagged the left wall before half track with the rear quarter which sent the car over to the right wall, Jan narrowly missing it and going back into the left lane. Jan got the chutes out and stopped in the shutdown area. Andreas's incrementals 0.9971 and 3.8979/324.71.

Fredrik Fagerström 10,0475/134.26 (got close to the centre line, a panel flew off the car and lifted v Michael Gullqvist 7.9471/184.55 (aggressive 0.977 60ft and then moved around his lane and lifted). No change in position for Micke.

Roger Johansson 6.0273/356.44 (1,0119 60ft) v Bruno Bader 5.9553/381.63 (0.9767) both well controlled runs, Roger to the left of his left lane, Bruno making an aggressive launch work. Marck Harteveld 8,6501/170.51 went to the left of his lane, moved around and lifted v Stian Rusĺnes 6.3000/353.87 (1.0162 60ft, a full run but possibly backing off too much on the tune).

Sandro Bellio 12.1507/110.75 v Silvio Strauch stopped on track, both lifted after 60ft, we are guessing tyre shake, but something must have been mechanically wrong with Silvio's dragster and he needed to be towed off.

08:30

Good morning and welcome to day 2 of our coverage of the FIA/FIM-E Tierp Internationals from Tierp Arena. The weather is again warm with just a few wispy clouds in the sky. The temperature is currently 18C forecast to rise to 27C with neglible 7mph wind from the north east. The density altitude thanks to airdensityonline.com is currently around 1000ft forecast to rise to 1700ft.

Yesterday was sportsman qualifying and, whilst a few had problems, the fields were tight and some ran close to their best. Pro Street was particularly outstanding with a 0.0923 spread between #1 and #16. There were also some superb runs in Stock/Super Stock with Williams Bros Racing coming out on top with a -1.2047 on index in the COPO Camaro by Nic Williams. Whilst the team made the first two sessions, routine maintenance meant we didn't see them later in the day, but they are ready. Hi also to the Brit teams who showed their hospitality to us, Neil Midgley's Cannon Racing Top Fuel Bike team, Carla Pittau and Rick McCann as well.

Commiserations to those who had problems, particularly to Pro Street racers Krister Åberg and Birgitta Lindström whose show quality cars had a coming together in the shutdown area, also Comp Eliminator racer Juho Yijälä-räty who had oil under his tyres and contacted the wall after the finish line.

Today's plan is for two more sessions of Sportsman qualifying and pro Qualifying at 11:50 and 15:30 CET (deduct an hour for BST). Hi to our colleagues Julian and Diana at Santa Pod on day 1 of Street Weekend, and to former editor Tog who will be travelling to Melbourne today. As we mentioned yesterday all three races we are covering this weekend will be in memory of SFI founder Arnie Kuhns and photojournalist Steve Moxley.
