Susanne's chute deployed after the burnout, possibly a mechanical issue triggering the electromotive system, her team quick to remove the car from the other lane to Jndia who ran 3.936/500.94 (311.26 mph) (incrementals 0.855 to 60ft and 3.167/441.40 (274.27 mph) to the eighth) to consoliodate her #1 position. Pause for clean-up in Silvio's lane. Johnny Oksa #2 5.573/415.57 improvement but no change in position . Sandro Bellio #1 5.525/415.73 (0.975 and 3.659/340.53) steered away from centre line chute out slightly early v Tony Bryntesson #3 engine fired but wouldn't keep lit. Then Jürgen Nagel in the last chance saloon, we think Silvio also dependent on him making a qualifying run for an eight car ladder. Jürgen went 7.684/228.72, on and off the throttle and in the show. It's a lovely morning, mainly sunny with high clouds. Temperature is 20C rising to 22C with a wind of 9mph from the south west. Air density is 1400ft-1850ft with 76-78 grains of water, less humid than yesterday if not exactly mineshaft conditions. Yesterday we had a round of sportsman qualifying and two rounds of pro qualifying. The schedule for today calls for two more qualifying rounds for everyone and the first round of Pro ET before the Night Show. You can follow the stream for both qualifying and elimination action plus the Night Show, however no replay is permitted so you will need to watch it live or not at all, the stream from last year was also not stored. Of the large number of UK competitors here we should mention two, Damion Redshaw whose Junior Dragster got loose on some oil in the shut down area and went on its side. Due to Damion's driving skill the car was undamaged and he will continue today, apparently unfazed by the incident when we spoke to him yesterday as he was collecting his timing ticket.
