Solid first eighth for Willem then haze from the replacement motor and off the gas. Peter A-S' bike started to move right from the start and he backed it off, added some power again further downtrack. Jan Sturla to sixty in 1.0379, motor soon started to smoke and he was off the gas by the eighth 4.3636/241.83. Got very close to the guardrail in the second half, thickening smoke through which I saw the chute deploy just before the stripe. Hans shut off before sixty feet and stopped on track, retrieval called. Thomas to sixty in 1.1601, bike headed left, 1.1739 for Peter A and bike also headed left. Thomas feathered the throttle and left in just enough ppower to get to the end, Peter also rolled off the power enough to stay out of trouble. Great match to end the session! Both Teemu and Kristin off the gas just past sixty feet, Kristin's bike was bouncing up and down as she got off the gas. Svein Olav's slick went up in smoke past the Tree, shut it off for a long while then squeezed the throttle open in the second half. Torsti off the gas after the thousand but still a six-second pass. Shake and tyre smoke for Martijn, quickly off the gas. A trail of oil in his lane all the way down the track, clean-up kit called out. Smoke for Harri also, through the smoke I saw the bike make a move and the motor spit flame. Rolled to a halt before the quarter.

On the restart both Marcus and Tommy got close to the centre line, Marcus pulled it away under power but Tommy had it under control, no sudden moves, Tommy looked to shut it off just before the stripe with a haze from the motor.

More than qualifying at stake for Tethys since if he made the field then, as things stood at that point, he would put stable-mate Jndia Erbacher out of competition. 0.8905 to sixty, 2.2948/286.78 to 330 feet, 3.2996/409.50 at the eighth, some haze passing the eighth. Comfortably into the ladder, the pressure now on Jndia. Björn to sixty in 0.9050, 2.6648/169.86 at 330 feet where the motor note rose and then the motor grunted and Björn was off the gas. Patrik to sixty in 0.8893, another (relatively) pedestrian launch for Dennis 1.2374. Patrik ahead at 330 feet 2.3248/278.06 to Dennis' 3.2168/192.86, motor labouring, Patrik to the eighth in 3.3691/390.74, Dennis in 4.8057/250.81. Patrik off the gas before the thousand, Dennis stayed on it but the motor wasn't having any of it. Jndia had no reverse and then shut off and was pushed back. Stig took the bye, 0.8960 to sixty, 2.4002/238.20 at 330 feet with tyres smoking. A pedal and back on it and smoking tyres through the eighth 3.7891/257.76 in a yellow haze of nitro and off the gas. Jndia not qualified but first alternate tomorrow. Anita to sixty in 0.8663, Micke in 0.9335, Anita with the much better 330 foot time 2.1990/309.28 to Micke's 2.3437/287.69, Anita's motor looked to have cylinders out at the eighth 3.1636/399.11 and she was off the gas shortly after, Micke to the eighth in 3.3636/378.42 and also off the pedal. Liam to sixty in 0.8669, Timo there in 0.8919, no shake for either but Liam's tyres started to turn and were smoking by 330 feet 2.3354/223.05, off the gas there or thereabouts. Timo going great guns at 330 feet 2.2927/291.11, the car was moving left all the way, 3.2994/402.68 to the eighth and then running right by the centre line and almost had the top end reflectors.

Mop-and-Billys clean-up in Tommy's lane. Wheels-up launch for Christian, 1.0199 to sixty, gear change and the wheels went up again and the car drifted left, off the gas. Roger Johansson 12.3004/81.68 bye; Andreas Arthursson 5.8574/405.71, Dmitry Samurokov 6.4892/294.12; Lars Järpler 11.4531/123.82, Jimmy Ålund 10.8796/114.60; Micke Johansson 7.0562/228.23, Stian Rusånes 6.7494/278.64; Peter Kunc 6.2199/363.88, Michel Tooren 6.8845/201.19; Åke Persson 6.0225/391.59, Mats Eriksson 5.9642/389.05; Kim Kristiansen 7.6582/212.01, Rolf Simonsson 6.1991/355.03; Michael Joneskog 9.3199/157.30, Marcus Perman 14.6771/59.64; Micke Gullqvist 5.9299/394.45, Jere Rantaniemi 5.9908/405.10; Jan Ericsson 9.4596/154.68, Freddy Fagerström 6.0021/386.82

Jan to sixty in 1.3250, driving-through-clutch sort of sounds - if such a thing is possible in a Pro Mod. 5.1959/240.86 to the eighth. Big cloud of dust as the car went into the beach at the end of the track.

On the restart Roger to sixty in 1.0104, car was going right, a spit of flame from the right pipe and off the gas. Andreas to sixty in 1.0189, Dmitry in 1.0590, looked like blacksktriping for Dmitry. Andreas visibly ahead at the eighth with a 3.9069 at a big 321.24, Dmitry to the eighth in 4.1854/293.96, off the gas and chutes out in the second half. Shake-fest next pair, Lars to sixty in 1.0590 and Jimmy in 1.0444, both hit shake, the body panels on the Old 51 were visibly shaking and the Coupe moved left as Lars' car moved right. Both off the gas, Jimmy blipped the throttle a few times but gave it up. Stian with a homage-to-Freddy burnout, rolled to the eighth. Stian couldn't quite hold it and left as the lights ran, 1.0781 to sixty to Micke's 1.0917. Micke had the better eighth 4.1795/286.32 to Stian's but he got off the gas befoe the thousand, Stian to the eighth in 4.2975/281.25 and off the gas before the stripe. Michel drilled Peter at the Tree 0.0452 to 0.2383, the better sixty 1.0086 to 1.0432, didn't look like ther ewas much in the way of shake for either. Michel with the much better eighth 3.9887/299.50 to Peter's 4.0898/292.52 but then Michel either deployed the chutes or the safety device put the chutes out before the thousand, left hand chute banged the 1000-foot reflector. Mats with the quicker sixty 1.005 to 1.0316, there was a brief thump of shake through the floor here, I am guessing Åke but no-one's progress impeded. Åke straight down his lane, 3.9919/308.92 at the eighth, Mats through the eighth in 3.9285/308.75 and the car took a small step right in the second half but he stayed with it. Kim to sixty in 1.0275, Rolf in 1.0263, the further the car went the less we could see through the black haze. Kim off the gas before the eighth, Rolf to the eighth in 4.0401/295.24 and all we could use for his stats after the eighth was the timing console as we could not see the second half of the track. I am guessing a new PB for Rolf, Robin Jackson has supplied numbers but consulting them right at this momoent is not an option. But if so then well done Rolf and team! Marcus' motor took three goes to start but then stayed lit. Michael to sixty in 1.0642 then shake and of the gas before 330 feet. Marcus hit instant shake, 1.1393 to sixty, squeezed the throttle to get down the track. Great match between Micke G and Jere! Micke to sixty in 1.0058, Jere in 1.0438, no shake for either, Micke to the eighth in 3.9123/311.60 and Jere 4.0197/316.34, Jere put on a huge amouht of speed in the second half, PB blasted into next week. Well done Jere and team! Jan to sixty in 1.0369, 0.9843 for Freddy, a grunt and faint bang from Jan's motor and he was off the gas. Freddy to the eighth in 3.9504/306.64, huge cheer in Race Control as the board lit up. Another PB for Freddy, well done Freddy and team! Oh so close to that five. It's coming.

Great run for Christian to open the session! 1.0016 to sixty, no sign of shake, car looked to squat down about 150 feet out, 4.2838/266.93 at the eighth. Instant shake for Simon, which we could feel here in Race Control, 1.2947 already off the gas. Stefan to sixty in 0.9928, car was heading left and he ran along the centre line for some considerable distance, almost had the eighth reflectors but wrenched it right, then the car started moving for the line again and was close to the thousand and quarter reflectors. Tommy with a step left in the burnout, then shut off for a fluid leak and pushed back. Horrible, horrible shake for Sampsa, motor screamed, 1.3233 at sixty, from the crooked way in which the wheels were rotating I think something broke in the rear end. Got it stopped quickly that's for sure, pulled over at 330 feet. Low loader called and car put on dollies to be pushed.

On the restart a stormer for Bengt, was pulling away from Magnus from the get-go, 0.9675 to sixty to Magnus' 1.0203 and visible lead at the eighth 4.2202/268.12 to Magnus' 4.3724/262.77. No issues for Magnus just plain outrun I think, Bengt up into top spot. Robin to sixty in 1.0055 and Thomas in 1.0062, a faint but discernible thump of shake but couldn't tell who. Instant shake for Dmitry, motor cut and chutes deployed, car stopped about 800 feet out and quad was right there for retrieval. Great run for Micke after fixing damage from Q1. 1.0122 to sixty, no sign of shake from here, 3.9676/308.40 at the eighth. Jan to sixty in 1.0427, motor note went up as if the tyres were turning but a solid eighth 3.9390/314.14. How about that ET for consistency. Mats to sixty in 1.0179, looked like mild shake from here, Roger to sixty in 0.9997 but the Mustang was heading left. Roger held on to it for as long as he could but shut it off as the car got close to the centre line 300 or so feet out. Matts to the eighth in 4.2577/229.59, off the gas. Didn't hurt him though, Tree'd Peter and a great run, 1.0352 to sixty to Peter's 1.0521, then 4.0292/304.74 to Peter's 4.0939/298.01, something came off Peter's car right on the eighth, went a good few feet into the air before coming down to the track. Track crew were picking up small pieces, hopefully shredded belt and not shredded engine parts. Rolf to sixty in 1.0074 with soot from both sides, Michael to sixty in 1.0632. Rolf's Camaro was heading right and he was rolling off the gas at the eighth 4.2147/248.85, had his hands full getting is straightened out. Michael to the eighth in 4.0263/315.24. Stormer for Freddy after the usual pre-run show. Kim's motor sounded as if it coughed briefly when he went up on the revs in stage. Good morning and welcome from Tierp Arena for our coverage of the Tierp Internationals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.

It's another beautiful day in Sweden, cloudless, a gentle breeze, already warm. A big Good Morning to the Eurodragsterholics, especially to Kai Plathan, the boys and the Mrs tuned in from Finland and to Ivar Kolberg in Norway. Hello also to longtime Eurodragster.com supporter Bob Roberts with thanks for the E-Mail, and to our Eurodragster.com colleagues Kirstie, Julian and off-track photog Diana who are tuned in back in England.

As you may have seen from the running order kindly provided by Marie Selander, Sportsmen classes are in eliminations today, starting with Junior Dragster and Comp Eliminator. There are three Pro qualifying sessions, the first at 10:00, the third Pro session does not include Top Fuel. Today we will be posting Sportsman class winners and the usual full reports and standings for Pro classes. As ever, in those classes in which it is practical we will do our best to post between each pair, so keep hitting Refresh.

There is Web TV today for a small fee; you can check out the link via the Event Index. Since said Web TV is not being provided by us, any queries or comments about it should not be directed to us, thank you.

I think it speaks volumes for the race officials and racers here that the Sportsmen have had ten qualifiers, the first oildown was towards the end of day two, and Your Reporter could be Dave Allen and still have fingers left on one hand counting other incidents which caused down time. A big thumbs-up to everyone.

We are due to start at 09:00, so stay tuned and as soon as the wheels start to turn we'll bring you the news. Meanwhile why not check out yesterday's gallery of 245 pictures courtesy of Lena and Remco, and Simon's pit notes which included more contributions from Mike. You can view both via the Event Index.
