Stock/Super Stock qualifying session 4

Not many changes in this session, a lot of runs consistent with previous best however; maybe raceday set-ups and dial-ins being formulated. Second pair and Lars Björklund up from #10 to #9. One-place move for Tomas Westberg, #15 to #14 and for Krister Fogelin up to #21. Improvement for Anders Hållén but stayed in place at #20. Squeaker -0.0018 RT for Jarmo Markkanen then next pair #18 for Uffe Edwardsson from #19. Jimmy Arvidsson lost drive about 150 feet out, motor note went up, maybe a missed gear, idled through. Next pair and up to #24 from #25 for Lasse Nyberg. Lasse Boden next up the ladder, #3 to #1 at 10.2689 on 11.50. No Scott Burton in this round.

That's qualifying done for today. We will post today's gallery when we have had dinner so stay tuned for that.

17:10

Improvement for Ludvig Sundqvist but stayed #35. #27 to #5 for Pontus Söderlund with a 0.0135. 0.0237 for Casper Madsen good for a move from #30 to #9, at that point 0.0935 bought you #29 of 38. Next pair and a 0.0041 and 0.0012 for Alisa Ritola and Atle Poolsar respectively won them #2 and #1 respectively.Previous #1 Niklai Tejnø then took back one of the places lost with a 0.0022 for #2 spot. Next pair and 0.0347 for Emil Eriksson moved him up to #14. 0.0096 for Tindra Christensen moved her up to #7. Penultimate pair and 0.0153 for Wilma Andersson was good for #9.

16:45

Comp Eliminator qualifying session 3

First pair and Robert Arthursson (7.05) shut off at the eighth, in the other lane Mathias Stenström (7.05) got close to the centre line but pulled it back before shutting off just before the stripe. Michael Bjälvik (6.67) going great guns in his pick-up but a puff of smoke and a move to the right just before the stripe, had the chute out sharpish. Track checked and all OK. Next pair and Roger Forsström's (7.64) motor cut out at the hit, stopped by the Tree. PerErik Lindgren's (8.96) altered again moved around its lane and he shut it off. Great pairing of Mats Lundkvist (7.68) with a 7.1555 and Krister Adeen (7.13) with a 6.6573, both up the ladder, #13 and #10 respectively. Big burnout for Odd Erik Fossum (7.12), in the other lane Stefan Winter (8.32) didn't get the tyres to light and was stopped before the stage line. Bad shake for Erik, off the gas, 8.2302 for Stefan. Improvements for Johan Pripp (7.61) at 6.8410 and a front left wheel up Viljar M&aum;esepp (7.05) at 6.7913, Johan #2 and Viljar #20. Improvement too for Rene Meierhofer (9.68) at 8.9737, first run for Jeppe Bergdahl (10.30), 0.0059 RT and 9.7136, in at #12. Shake for Ville Haga (7.03) but pedalled and the tyres hooked up then the car was visibly accelerating furiously, 6.5427/354.10 for #16. Penultimate pair and an improvement for Pär Eriksson (7.13), 6.6654 good for #17. Peter Thörnäs (6.67) didn't move into stage so the Chief Starter ran the Tree for Jesper Stenberg (7.00), a bang from the motor, shake and a pedal, lost some time to the shake and pedal but still 7.3045/309.63 and #26. Mop-and-Billys clean-up in Peter's lane.

That's qualifying cycle 3 done, we are going to run cycle 4 for Junior Dragster and Stock/Super Stock then we're done for the day.

16:20

Pro Street qualifying session 3

Into the session with the top eleven in the 7.6s and the bump spot 8.4615. That bump spot will certainly change. Michael Maderer right side at 7.6562 good for #9 and that took the bump spot down to 7.9998. Told you so! Next pair and Roger Kullander in at #3 at 7.6058 and that bump spot now 7.8989. In the other lane an improvement for Peter Nordlund 7.6578 but stayed #11.Big moment for Ossi Oikarinen as the Coupe made a serious step to the right on the stripe. Ossi kept a hold of it, great driving. Odd Roar Øgård couldn't get started and was pushed away. Bye for Michael Ohlsson, front wheels up and rear wheels shaking, car moved for the centre line and still misbehaved despite frequent pedals. 0.0004 break-out for Alexandra Wingård which equates to the track being 2.98 centimetres too short for a 7.6000. Great to see much-missed Top Fuel racer Thomas Nataas crewing with Trond Nordby. Kristoffer Nordström with a 7.6553 in at #9, bump spot 7.7239. 7.6034 for Preben Bærentzen next pair, bump spot 7.7069... that all-7.6 bump is not long off now. Mats Lusth shut off after his burnout and was pushed back, mop-and-Billys clean-up in his lane. The final pair vanished from the timing system in moments but I just managed to note that the bump spot had changed to 7.6578.

15:50

Street qualifying session 3

Into the session with five of ten in the 8.6s. Luckily Micael Eriksson didn't really need his chute as it did not fully open. Second pair and a long, right-aiming wheelie for Martin Häggström in the Voldo, had to get off the gas as the guardrail loomed.

15:40

Next pair and Jonathan Bergström was pushed back before staging, looked like a frank and honest exchange of views between his crew. Same for Kevin Granholm next pair, pushed back before staging. A second 0.0393 for Atle Poolsar equalling his previous best, what're the odds. Felicia Olson with a 0.0215 moved up a spot to #9. Two spots up for Marcus Andersson, 0.0314 good for #9. Comp Eliminator qualifying session 2

Shake and a move left for Mika Eloranta (7.13) in the first pair, had shut it off by half track. Fantastic run for Robert Arthursson (7.05), 6.3555 for #3 and that wasn't in a straight line. In the other lane Lars-Georg Johansson (7.60) got got it back together with a 6.9053 for #2 but there was smoke from the motor in the second half. Tyres spun at the hit for Gideon Liljegren (7.68) and off the gas as the car made a move left with motor screaming. Bjørn Johansen (7.45) also with traction trouble at the hit, pedalled then back on the gas but ultimately shut it off in the second half. Mathias Mathias Stenström (7.05) and Keld Jakobsen (7.13) both headed left, Keld off the gas as the car got very close to the centre line. Similar story for Krister Adeen (7.13) and Pär Eriksson (7.13), Krister gave it up before half track, Pär very close to the centre line most of the way and shut it off before the stripe. A misfire then bang from viljar Mäesepp's motor, move left and off the gas before 150 feet. Next pair and Rene Meierhofer (9.68) up to #4 at 9.0020. Penultimate pair and shake for Odd Erik Fossum, Jens Eklund's (7.64) motor with a lot of revs for little movement and he shut it off in the first half. Last run of the session PerErik Lindgren (8.96), lost fire after the burnout but fired up again. Wayward run but moved up to #14 at 8.5651.

On to qualifying cycle 3.

13:35

Pro Street qualifying session 2

First pair and the other Fast Freddy, the Gravningen version, into #1 at 7.6018. Peter Trång pushed back from the bleach box next pair, 7.5877 breakout for Trond Norby on the resulting bye. 0.0091-second breakout for Preben Bærentzen, at that speed the track was 74.67 centimetres too short for a 7.600. Next pair and a 7.6835 for Stefan Bjöns was good for #3 at that point. Fantastic 7.6003 for Stefan Andrésson took #1 spot to cheers from everyone in Race Control, so sue us. At that point we had six 7.6s and eighteen of twenty two right side. Next pair and Pär Norgren rolled through stage before the lights ran, 7.5923 breakout for Michael Maderer but moved him up the ladder. Jussi Pippolainen up to #5 at 7.6686. Bump spot had worked its way down to 8.4615 by this point but believe me it will keep dropping. Side-by-side 7.6s next, 7.6534 for Angelica Larsson for #6 spot and 7.6080 for Seppo Raussi for #3. Next pair and Alexandra Wingård's tyres went up in smoke at the hit, in the other lane Kent Gustavsson shut off at half track. Lars Berglund with a 7.6407 took #6 spot. At that point the top ten were in the 7.6s, bump spot still 8.4615. The improvements kept coming, 7.6850 for Peter Nurdlund in the big Starliner, #10, and 7.6104 for Ossi Oikarinen good for #4. That's eleven of the top sixteen in the 7.6s.

13:15

Street qualifying session 2

Rolf Berglund in at #1 at 8.6165 in the first pair, that will explain the number one plate. 8.7672 good for #4 for Martin Häggström next pair. Anders Hållén next up the ladder, #19 to #14. 10.5883 improvement for Carla Pittau, stayed #3. Iiro Mikkola in at #22, in the other lane a big wheelie fro Sami Toppari, would not be surprised if the back bumper now had two indentations where the wheelie bars went in. 10.2054 on 11.25 for Björn Bondesson good for #5 spot, for one run anyway as Jarmo Markkanen took it over with a 10.1506 on 11.20. 9.8694 on 11.00 good for #2 for Timo Ehronen. Jarmo Grönman up from #28 to #2 with a 9.1394 on 10.30, that was taking a long way round so more to come yet. Next pair and #10 to #5 for Mathias Färm with 9.4518 on 10.55. Lasse Bodén at #3 after the first round now showing as not having run, Q1 run removed for reasons to which I am not privy but 10.3269 on 11.50 this time good for #2.

Thomas Hauge's 8.9314 good for second spot, in the other lane 8.3506 for Kevin Danielsson. Magnus Wimark and Rasmus Östlun's motors both stopped off the line in the third pair. Next pair and an 8.5471 took the lead for Peter Svensson. 8.3663 for Per Olsen next pair, don't think he read the memo. Final pair and Tage Olsson up to #2 8.5964.

Final run of the session, 0.0981 for Casper Madsen, lost drive and stopped just before the eighth but the RT counts, #19.

11:25

Comp Eliminator qualifying session 1

Light smoke from Per Mikkelsen's (8.02) motor then a big puff right on the stripe. Wheelspin and screaming motor for Lars-Georg Johansson (7.60), shut off very quickly. In the other lane PerErik Lindgren's (8.96) altered was making moves about its lane then he backed out of it. Next pair and a 6.9650 for Roger Forsström (7.64) good for #1 spot. Bjørn Johansen's (7.45) Vette made moves about its lane in the second half, Viljar Mäesepp's (7.05) front end leapt into the air at the hit and the Nissan made a move on landing, a pedal then back on it. Big shake for both Stefan Winter (8.32) and Gideon Liljegren (7.68), Stefan's gullwing Mercedes made a violent move right and he was off the gas, got to the end of the track on momentum and likely with a bit of a headache. Gideon was headed for the centre line but pedalled and pulled it straight. Sooner or later Andres Arnover (6.67) is going to do it, would it be this session? Not this session, a haze from the motor in the second half then a flash of flame and more smoke right before the stripe. Still into #4 spot. Fantastic 6.2890 for Odd Erik Fossum (7.27) put him #1, very happy team. Nice front left wheel up launch for Michael Bjävik's (7.45) pick-up, shut it off early but still 7.3046. Robert Arthursson (7.05) deep-staged, one of his crew approached the car and was waved back by the Chief Starter, on the green Robert's car headed left and it was a fag paper job with the guardrail. In the other lane Ville Haga (7.03) was going great guns but was off the gas and chutes out in the second half, 7.1006 shows how much more is left in there. Great 6.3843 for Mathias Stenström (7.05) and that was with a move for the centre line, in at #4. Johan Pripp (7.61) Looked to shut it off early yet still a 7.0831 good for #6 at that point. Next pair and Jens Eklund (7.64) into #5 at 7.0115. Early shut-offs for Jesper Stenberg (7.00) and Krister Adeen (7.13), Krister's front end skipping and the rapid Volvo heading for the centre line. Peter Thörnäs (6.67) closed the session, shake and a pedal but still 6.0556.

That's qualifying cycle 1 done, on to #2.

10:30

Pro Street qualifying session 1

This is a real growth class. 7.60 index, 7.5 is a breakout, 7.4 and you get the Race Director's personal invitation to put your car on the trailer. First pair and shake for Angelica Larsson lost her ET. Next pair and our first 7.6, won't be our last, Peter Trång with a 7.6874. 7.3609 for Felix Nilsson next pair, we won't be seeing him again then. One of his crew got quite animated as he left the line, not happy about something. Alexandra Wingård in the other lane with big wheelspin off the line. 7.6195 for Mats Lusth next pair good for #1, in the other lane Odd Roar Øgård's Mustang crept off the line. Quick clean-up in Odd Roar's lane. On the restart a puff of smoke and something came off Carina Morgren's Camaro. Looked from here like a propshaft but at that distance can't be sure, whatever it was it was metal, long and thin. Carina had the anchors out very quickly. Track crew picking up small pieces. Johan Hedman's Trans Am another candidate for Best Appearing Car... and that's the only opportunity to look at it, 7.4381 and the red card. I cannot tell a lie, that "Oh no!" in the background of the commentary was me, that'll be another early-hours knock-up from the police I suppose. 7.6841 for Ossi Oikarinen in the other lane good for #2 at that point. Starter had a look under Anna Knutes' Ford before staging, all OK but problems launching and shut off early, mop-and-Billys clean-up in her lane. Great 7.6210 for Stefan Bjöns put him #2, in the other lane Lars Björklund did a Gerritsen, looked to be using the chute as an anti-breakout aid. Big wheelspin at the hit for Frerik Granvingen, the other Fast Freddy with a pick-up, calmy pedalled and the tyres picked up but he lost a lot of ET to it. Next pair and Roger Kullander rolled through stage so no ET but plenty more goes yet. At close we had four in the 7.6s, eighteen of twenty three right-side.

Quick groom of the track then Comp Eliminator to close cycle 1.

10:15

Street qualifying session 1

8.60 index, burnout over the start line allowed. 8.0 which, let's face it, is a pretty big breakout is grounds for exclusion. A pair of breakouts to open the session, Sami Holm and Kent Olofsson with 8.5s. Next pair and a Nitrous purge altitude record for Micael Eriksson, lost time to wheelspin. 8.6214 for Helena Olsson took #1 at that point. 8.4529 for Ove Åkerman,in the other lane an 8.8807 for Martin Häggström good for #3 at that point. Marcus Gustaffson with an 8.4613 also in the Naughty Corner, 8.6760 for Mauritz Rådberg good for #2 at that point.

10:00

Stock/Super Stock qualifying session 1

9.1384 on 10.05 with a huge wheelie into the bargain opened the session for Ari Körkkö. 9.884 on 11.00 for Jonas Bengtsson took over #1. Next pair Mats Persson shut it off early and idled through. Timo Eronen next to top spot with a 9.8839 on 11.00. 0.0058 RT for Theodor Brandt and into #3 at 10.9319 on 12.00. 10.6004 on 11.55 for Carla Pittau good for #6, rear end fixed then. Big wheelspin at the hit for Jarmo Grönman but a good recovery. Next pair and Lasse Bodén into #1 at 10.3161 on 11.50. 0.0044 RT for Yrjouml; Wallius. Björn Bondesson in at #6 with the obgliatory huge wheelie and 10.2217 on 11.25. Big move left off the line for Jarmo Markkanen, blackstriping but still 10.2028 on 11.20 good for #9. Our very welcome US visitor Scott Burton in the Strands' Pontiac into number one with a huge wheelie and 10.0568 on 11.25. That showed us, didn't it!

09:40

Super Comp qualifying session 1

First pair and a second burnout for Kevin Danielsson at the hit, 0.0010 breakout for Mari Udtian in the other lane. Leif Andersson edged out of stage as the lights ran, in the other lane Krtistina Hägglund Nygren's dragster stopped a foot or so off the line then picked up, both ended up with ten-second ETs. Tina Olsen Frog into stage before Peter Andreasson went into pre-stage, courtesy staging mandatory here and starter signalled her to come back. Unflustered Tina with an 8.9092 took #1. 0.0006 breakout for Micke Nilsson which equates to the track being 4.54 centimetres too short for him. Next pair and a big 8.2798 breakout for Julian Borén Stolt. Stefan Jansson with an 8.3913 in what is becoming a crowded Naughty Corner. 8.9590 for Thomas Hauge in the penultimate pair good for #2 at that point.

09:25

Super Gas qualifying session 1

First pair and paired 9.8-second breakouts for Christer Uhlin and Bengt Arold G Strøm, same story for Leif Näsman and Håkan Mattsson next pair. 9.6652 for John Clausen, in the other lane Mimmi Carlsson took #1 spot at 12.2761. Mats Karlsson first into the 9.9s with a 9.9634 to take over #1 spot. Eddy van den Bos hotfoot from Hockenheim into #2 at 9.9650. Nine of nineteen right-side at the end of the session.

09:15

Pro ET qualifying session 1

Dial-in qualifying, not currently showing on the timing system as such but will. Niklas Wikander +0.0092 on dial-in in the second pair. Nice wheelie by Jonas Larsson in his big Coronet, we need to match that guy up with Dave Billadeau, but clean-up followed in his lane, one of those clean-ups which starts with a guy with a mop and then ends with spotters out the length of the track, crew straddling, and the Berrymans trailer called out. Word was water with an additive. On the restart a 0.0087 breakout for Tony Vaahtera. Ulf Zachrisson into #2 at +0.0182 at the end of the session.

Super Pro ET qualifying session 1

Similar situation here, timing system currently showing the class heads-up. 7.7701 on 7.76 dial-in for Micke Nilsson first pair. Frida Grendal's dragster a candidate for Best Appearing Car and 7.4665 on 7.45 dial-in.

Super Street qualifying session 1

Problems for Aulis Hämeenkorpi first pass, pulled over and stopped 300 feet out. Retrieval arrived quickly. 11.0685 for Sebastian Jacobsen in the other lane. 10.6440 and 10.8258 breakouts for Peter Päggström and Christer Gustafsson next pair. Same story for Åke Törnqist and Ulf Axelsson next pair, 10.8027 and 10.8051 respectively. First 10.9 of the day for Uffe Lundgren, 10.9979. 10.7604 for Stefan Bengtsson with a wheelie worthy of Stock/Super Stock, I saw Julian checking the back of his camera so should be good for a picture in the gallery. The top three of twelve right side of index at the end of the session.

Super Comp Bike qualifying session 1

8.50 index. Close 8.4868 for Per Olsen. Next pair and a 8.6996 for Göran Bodsaäter took #1, 8.6526 for Peter Östlund next pair took it away. Andreas Ramkvist pushed away before staging. Gentle and then suddenly big wheelie for Tomas Jonsson about 200 feet out, kept a hold of it and put it down gently. 8.6462 for Tage Olsson took #1 in the penultimate pair.

Results are now being uploaded, so a Refresh should change the panel on the right to this event.

RT qualifying here. 0.0188 for John Rolfstad in the first pair, in the other lane 0.0444 for Seth Friström.

9.50 index. Second pair and Risto Torniainen left before the lights ran, Robert Nygren waited for the green and a 9.5797 was good for #1 at that point. 9.2353 for Jenni Pekkarinen will need slowing down a tad, similarly Magnus Pollack's 9.3719 next pair.

Emil Eriksson with problems in the bleach box, pushed back. Great to see Top Fuel racer Jari Halinen out there with grandson Kaarle Paakkari and a big Thank You to Kai Plathan for passing on the Eurodragster.com decals. 0.0077 for Veeti Kortelainen put him #2 by 0.0001. 0.0554 for Malte Stenström good for #4 at that point but went below the 12.90 Junior Stock index so the run was removed.

Good morning and welcome from Tierp Arena for our coverage of the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.

It's a very nice day here, hardly a cloud in the sky, pre-autumn chill in the air until the sun came up a bit.

Today's plan is for commentaries on Sportsman qualifying, as you can see we are using the split-screen format so that you can check out the full qualifying standings. The panel currently shows Tierp International results but it will change to this event as soon as the first results are uploaded, so hit Refresh every so often and that will sort itself out. We will post a gallery at the end of the day courtesy of Julian. There will be no pit notes this weekend but a big Hello to Simon and Kirstie who are attending today's Junior Drag Racing Fun Day at Santa Pod Raceway.

Courtesy of Nitrozplay there is a free webcast of all four days of the race; I believe that this time the broadcast will include the commentators. Broadcast commences at 09:00 European/08:00 UK and you can find the link on the Event Index. Nitroz are also offering an SMS alert service which will send you a text message when your selected classes run. A weekend's worth of alerts costs 69 SEK per class and you can sign up at web.nitroz.se/notes.

A big Good Morning to the Eurodragsterholics, especially Ivar Kolberg tuned in from Norway, Kai Plathan and the faithful Otto tuned in from Finland, Bob Roberts tuned in from England and Benni Voss tuned in from Germany. A special Hello and hug to our Off-Track Photographer Diana Macrae, thinking of you DD and it will be OK. To all of those tuned in on your day jobs today we'll do our best to keep you informed, just don't get yourselves in trouble.

Courtesy of Marie Selander you can find today's provisional running order on the Event Index. Junior Dragster are due in the lanes at 08:00, tune back soon after and we'll start to bring you the news.
