Final qualifying session for Top Fuel. Jöran to sixty in 0.8783, 330 feet in 2.3044/280.52 looked to have a cylinder out on the right side. 3,3514/386.54 at the eighth, headed left and took out both the 1000-foot and the at that point redundant quarter mile reflectors DQing his run. Björn to sixty in 0.8840 and Stefan in 0.8737, header flames burning green on the left side, shake for Stefan passing the Tree and shut it off before 330 feet 2.8022/183.55, Björn with a pedal and then passed 330 feet in 2.4339/242.26, smoke from his motor then a loud bang and a ball of flame just past the 330. Brief clean-up ensued in the shutdown area. Liam's motor was revving quite high coming off the burnout, crew member Gary Page started to run after the car but Liam could not get it stopped until the quarter mile. Liam sat at the top end whilst Duncan was ready to stage, quad arived from the emergency exit, hooked up and towed him off allowing Duncan to run, but what happend next was kind of inevitable. 0.9409 to sixty feet with green header flames and then a bang and ball of flame, one chute deployed. Rear end stood up, instant shake and spin for Micke, off the gas. Timo to sixty in 0.8782, 2.2700/292.68 at the 330, 3.2545/417.63 at the eighth and stayed on it to the back door for a new PB. Well done Timo and team! Great pairing to close the session. Antti away first 0.1640 to Anita's 0.1874, Anita with a meteoric sixty 0.8435 although Antti wasn't far behind at 0.8559. Anita pulling ahead at 330 feet 2.1814/308.92 (191.95 mph), Antti 2.1972/305.08. Antti's dragster was gently drifting towards the centre line but he stayed with it. Anita to the eighth 3.1109/441.18 (274.14 mph), Antti visibly behind at the eighth but not far 3.1584/422.54 and then it all happened very quickly. Two parts, must have been reasonably large to be visible from here, came off Anita's car and then there was a big ball of flame from her motor just past the stripe. Thick smoke from Antti's motor just past the thousand. Safety crews chased Anita down. Clean-up ensued in both lanes.

As Anita returned in front of the grandstand it could be seen that the bug catcher had broken, the was scoop pretty much gone.

FIA Pro Modified qualifying session 4 (left lane first)

The Swedish Pro Modified Championship is again included within the qualifying sessions and all runs count including the final.

Swedish Pro Modified Championship round 2

Andreas Arthursson 5.7569/415.07 def. Michael Joneskog 6.1567/392.73

Andreas uses his last European record to back up this one. Michael away first 0.0299 to 0.0596, Andreas had the better sixty 0.9907 to 1.1504, Andreas' car just squatted down and went, clear lead at the eighth 3.8428/326.88 (203.88 mph) to Michael's 4.1298/307.52. Andreas' terminal speed equates to 257.91 mph. Well done Andreas and team!

Roger Johansson 5.8533/395.60 def. Jan Ericsson 5.9363/393.01

Jan just away first 0.0347 to 0.0352, Roger with the much better sixty 0.9761 to 1.0209, Roger heading for the centre line and ultimately banged the eighth-mile reflector. Eighth stats thus possibly dodgy so won't put those up but the quarter mile stats are OK. Under Swedish Championship rules it is OK to bang the reflectors (E-Mail someone else, not me) so Roger wins the race, however his ET is disallowed for qualifying purposes.

Great first full pass for the new Green Goblin. 1.0397 to sixty, little sign of shake, straight down the middle of the lane. 4.0550/300.33 at the eighth. Smoke from the motor in the shutdown area but no consternation from the spotters. Peter lost fire after his burnout and was pushed back. Freddy with shake passing sixty feet 1.0676, Michel to sixty in 0.9953 then shake, moved to the left and shut it off. Freddy pedalled, pulled it straight and got back on it but was off the gas before the eighth. Åke to sixty in 1.0199, Micke in 0.9669, Åke then hit shake, a couple of pedals then off the gas before the eighth. Micke close to the centre line at the eighth 3.8995/304.91 but pulled it back. David to sixty in 0.9662, Micke in 1.0478 with high-frequency shake and heading left, stayed with it and pulled it back. Storming eighth for David 3.8369/311.78 to Micke's 4.1740/286.47, David looked to have the chutes out early so more to come there. No burnout for Jimmy, lots of revs but car didn't move at the first attempt then the tyres hooked up on the second. Instant shake and instant shut off for Jimmy. Rolf to sixty in 0.9982, the eighth in 4.0513/288.31.

Tyre spin and shake for Linn, tried to drive through it but then a hard right and off the gas, idled through. Great match between Dennis and Jonny! Dennis to sixty in 0.9041, I think I may have heard a brief pedal, 0.9376 for Jonny. A long wait whilst Tommy's crew adjusted the wheelie bars. To sixty in 1.0136, sounded to be turning the tyres, 4.3666/260.49 at the eighth. An improvement but stayed #10. Magnus to sixty in 0.9963, instant shake for Sampsa, 1.2404 to sixty shut off by then. Magnus to the eighth in 4.2928/265.49, into the ladder at the expense of Christian and Sampa now on the bump. Thomas shut off before staging - he later came to see us in Race Control to tell us that the wheelie bar had broken - and was pushed back after Christian took his bye. 0.8956 to sixty for Jöran, visible shake then the safety device cut the motor and put one chute out. If that isn't Robin Grice working with Patrik then someone has cloned him. Instant shake and smoke for Stefan, already off it by sixty feet 1.6629. Conservative-looking pass for Patrik, his first run in a while so I am guessing that was deliberate for check-out purposes. 1.0389 to sixty, 2.5784/265.88 at 330 feet, 3.7101/330.28 at the eighth, off the gas there and chute out before the thousand. Instant shake for Björn and a metallic bang, sounded like something snapping, 1.2507 to sixty already off the gas by then. Micke to sixty in 0.9126, to 330 feet in 2.3454/252.69 with shake and the car was moving left, a pedal and then one more stab of the throttle before the eighth and off it by then 3.6310/273.97. Kirstie at the top end getting chute shots reported in that there was a loud bang from Micke's motor in the shutdown area. Liam to sixty in 0.8607, Antti in 0.8604 blackstriping. Liam looked to hit shake and drift left, shut it off before feet 3.0989/128.21. Antti on a stormer by 330 feet 2.2022/308.40, to the eighth still blackstriping in 3.1470/430.28, looked to drive it out the back door. No Anita, no Duncan.

Good morning and welcome from Tierp Arena for our coverage of the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.

Nicer day today, some low cloud scudding but mainly blue sky.

As you can see we are using the split screen again this weekend so that you can view full qualifying standings on the right. On our side of the screen we will post detailed commentaries on the Sportsman qualifying sessions and as ever we will post the full details of Pro sessions. Courtesy of Marie Selander you can find today's provisional running order on the Event Index.

Once the Pro sessions start I will do my best to upload between each pair so keep hitting Refresh. Similarly to the Tierp Internationals in June there are three Pro qualifying sessions today, with the exception of Top Fuel Dragster who get the usual two. Some of the Sportsman classes go into eliminations today, Junior Dragster and Stock/Super Stock are first with their E1s this morning. Pro sessions, which include the Swedish Pro Modified Championship, are scheduled for 09:50, 12:50 and 16:50 and today the FIA classes go before the EDRS Pro bike classes.

Whilst waiting for the track to open this morning you could do worse than check out yesterday's gallery which contains 455 pictures courtesy of Kirstie and Julian and which you can check out via the Event Index.

Web TV is available courtesy of Nitrozplay commencing at 09:00. You can find a link to the Web TV on the Event Index. Please note that Eurodragster.com has no involvement in this webcast so if you have any issues with it then there is no point contacting us or in posting plaintive comments on social media.

A big Good Morning to the Eurodragsterholics, with a special wave to Kai Plathan and Otto tuned in from Finland, to Ivar Kolberg in Norway, and to Benni Voss in Germany. Hello also to our good friend Bob Roberts tuned in from the UK, to MSA Championship PR Robin Jackson with thanks for the continued PB updates, to Kathy Taylor also tuned in from the UK and to our Eurodragster.com colleague Simon.
