Jens Eklund (7.87) with a 7.0157 consolidated his #1 spot, in the other lane a hairy-looking run for Robert Arthursson (7.05), close to the right guardrail, then smoke from the motor in the second half, 6.3599/345.27 at the stripe but then the car disappeared behind a huge cloud of smoke in the shutdown area. Track checked and all OK. Not seen Per Mikkelsen (8.02) for a long while, we were only talking about him the other day and here he is. If that is how it works then Kate Winslet, I haven't seen you for a while. Looked like a checkout pass for Per, 1.0777 to sixty, shut off before the eighth. Jim Bergström (6.89) 6.9823 and Jesper Stenberg (7.00) 6.9089 side-by-side into the ladder at #16 and #16 respectively. Peter Thörnäs with a spectacular 6.1 yesterday but run DQ'd after tech. Back today, a mop of his lane before staging. 1.0836 to sixty then tyres started to turn, engine note started to climb, shut off. Peter's lane checked in the shutdown area.

Pro Street qualifying session 2

The more I see this class the more I think it should be mandatory at every race on the planet. 200-foot burnout for Daniel Hållestam's big Plymouth to open the session. Deep-staged robbing him of a little ET. Soooo close for Roger Kullander in the other lane, 7.5976. Next pair and Kristoffer Nordström with an 7.7386 good for #14 and Michael Ohlsson with a 7.8251 good for #14, bump spot 7.8799 at that point. Michael Maderer's tyres spun at the hit, in the other lane an 8.6 for Ola Andersson but antics from his parachute at the top end, tracing a circle of wide radius, almost as if some of the lines had become detached. RT we won't mention but a great 7.6137 for Ossi Oikarinen moved him up to #2, bump spot now 7.8639. 300-foot burnout for Christian Kongshem who has a busy schedule with a couple of Junior Dragsters to supervise as well as his Nova, 0.0039 breakout. Next pair and another breakout, 0.0085 for Peter Trång. Great side-by-side 7.6132 and 7.6388 for Seppo Raussi and Pelle Arvidsson, Seppo now #2 and Pelle #6. At that point we had eleven of twenty two in the 7.6s. Next pair and an even better match, Lars Berglund with a 7.6103 good for #1 and Micke Norén up to #1 at 7.6075. Next pair and Johan Källberg edged out of stage as the lights ran. #17 Stefan Bjöns next up, could he get into the ladder? Left before the lights ran so not yet. Tyre shake and a pedal for Trond Nordby in the other lane. Fredrik Gravningen with a 7.8171 into the ladder at #15 relegating Michael Ohlsson to the bump at 7.8251.

Super Comp qualifying session 3

A big Good Morning to FWD guru Luke Stevenson who is tuned in, I would have said hello yesterday Luke but I thought you were meant to be on holiday. First pair and Kent Olofsson pushed back, an 8.9361 bye for Micke Nilsson good for #5. One of our Danish FWD visitors next, Jakob Hansen in his Toyota Starlet, motor stopped by the Tree and he was pushed back. In the other lane smoke from Angelica Larsson's car, track checked whilst in the other lane a mop-up where Jakob stopped. During the down time the front row of Race Control was entertained by Michelle Rosander, strapped in and waiting to run in her dragster, playing pat-a-cake pat-a-cake with one of her crew. On the restart an 8.9319 good for a move to #4 for Per Justesen. Check under Sami Holm's Nova before running, all OK, took the bye as Michelle Rosander was pushed back, 8.9530 for Sami good for #9. Big burnout for Jan Hallmann, 150 feet or so, in the other lane a 0.0093 breakout for #1 qualifier Kristina Hägglund Nygren. Next up Peter Larsen in his Supra v Jack Krugel in his FWD Nissan, Peter with problems shut off and pulled over, stopped about 300 feet out. Meanwhile Jack on a stormer, initially headed for the centre line but pulled it back whilst also changing gear, 8.7666/263.03 and I very much doubt that he will be bothered by the breakout. Deep Stage foul for Amanda Sjöström-Andersson, 8.9173 for Elin Aarvok in the other lane good for a move up to #2. 0.0099 RT for Joe Kellett, in the other lane an 8.9364 for Mari Udtian good for #8 from #13. Ten of twenty three in the 8.9s a the end of the session.

Super Gas qualifying session 3

Going into this session we had three of eleven in the 9.9s. 9.8191 for Kenny Åsberg int he first pair so his earlier 19.7202 still counts and he stayed #10. Christer Uhlin and Håkan Mattsson with side by side breakouts 9.8563 and 9.8944. Eddy van den Bos would have liked to have run Pro ET I think but that class is an invitational this weekend so he is in Super Gas, 9.8187 thhis time. 9.9549 for Fanny Olsson dropping small pieces of paper all the way down the track, from here looked for all the world like 20 SEK notes, for all the expense moved up to #2. That lasted one pair as Mats Karlsson moved up to #2 at 9.9382... and that lasted one pair as Erik Jansson took over #2 spot at 9.9366. We now have six of twelve in the 9.9s.

Super Street qualifying session 3

Tomas Hägg with a 10.9390 yesterday and a 10.9398 here. Old guys still rule, Christer Gustafsson back up to #1 at 10.9041. Kent Forschner-Hell closed the session with a 10.7363.

08:35

Junior Drag Bike qualifying session 3

0.0529 for Anna Rosander in the first pair, up from #4 to #2. Having pulled a 0.0714 yesterday John Rolfstad pulled a 0.0769 today, how about that. #1 qualifier Moa Nilsson pushed back before staging, 0.1221 for Eemeli Helkkala moved her up from #7 to #5. Final run of the session and Tryngve Kjærstad Helgerud pushed back before staging, fluid leak.

Junior Dragster qualifying session 3

It's not often you head a Junior sound as if it is misfiring but Ole Kristoffer Steen Aas' motor sounded that way in the burnout. Sounded unhealthy on the run too but he got away from the line which is the important thing in JD qualifying and a 0.0167 moved him from #37 to #8. Tomas Numinen (sez the timing console, I am not so sure) pushed back before staging, Marcus Andersson took the bye. 0.0915 for Felicia Olsson moved her up from #35 to #29. At that point 0.0916 would buy you #30 of 39. Almathea Granholm with a 0.0636 moved her up to #23 from #37, in my previous statement now read #31 for #30. Car stranded on the shutdown area after that pair, top end crew rushed to remove. Nina Björnsson next up the ladder, from #24 to #17 at 0.0430. Hedda Viktoria Birk followed with a 0.0557 good for a move from #36 to #23. A 0.0356 for Viktor Heleander moved him up from #34 to #14, that 0.0916 would now get you #33 of 39. Next pair and a 0.0021 for Fanny Andersson moved her all the way up from #21 to #1, in the other lane some consternation around Ethny Magnusson's car, a drop of fluid I think, crew leaned forward with a rag to wipe it as the Tree ran and off went Ethny, crew got a bit of a shock I think and will likely hear from race officials... and indeed they did, run DQ'd although it was no improvement on previous anyway. Niklas Larsson and Justin Ericsson side-by-side up the ladder, Niklas Larsson #37 to #21 at 0.0472 and Justin up from #36 to #27 at 0.0575. Liam McDonald with the customary chute deployment. Riina Raussi up from #10 to #9 at 0.0162. Last pair and Felicia Rudnert up from #18 to #17 at 0.0407. At the end of the session we have five in the 0.00s, 0.0916 gets you #34 of 39. God Jul!

Good morning and welcome from Tierp Arena for our coverage of the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.

High cloud and some sun this morning after an awful afternoon, evening and night yesterday with heavy rain and ultimately thunder and lightning. The track crew were on the job at 05:00 this morning; the racing surface is ready and waiting, looks like some finishing touches in the shutdown area.

As you can see we are using the split screen again this weekend so that you can view full qualifying standings on the right. On our side of the screen we will post detailed commentaries on the Sportsman qualifying sessions and as ever we will post the full details of Pro sessions, the first of which is due at 12:50 today which does of course give the part-time photogs a bit of a lay-in. Courtesy of Marie Selander you can find today's provisional running order on the Event Index.

Once the Pro sessions start I will do my best to upload between each pair so keep hitting Refresh. Longtime readers will know that it is not possible in every class but it won't be for the want of trying.

Whilst waiting for the track to open this morning you could do worse than check out yesterday's gallery which contains 295 pictures courtesy of Kirstie and Julian and which you can check out via the Event Index.

Web TV is available courtesy of Nitrozplay commencing at 09:00. You can find a link to the Web TV on the Event Index. Please note that Eurodragster.com has no involvement in this webcast so if you have any issues with it then there is no point contacting us or in posting plaintive comments on social media.
