Latest update 17:50

Top Doorslammer racer Samuel Andersson has a Ford Mustang built by Precision Chassis with a nitrous Pat Musi 903ci engine and Bruno Lenco 3 speed. The team is new to the class and their best time is 3.94. A 4.77 in session one was followed by being shut off in session two.

Top Doorslammer racer Andreas Sjödin runs a screw blower on his 526ci BBC engine, with a clutch Lenco trans, unusual for the class. His PB is 4.104 and he ran a 4.33 in today's second session. Sjödin Motorsport built the car and team member Marcus Sjödin runs the class web site at www.topdoorslammer.com.

Top Doorslammer racer Pontus Liberg has been in the class for a time and has raced since 1996. His Camaro is blown and he ran a 7.34 in the first session and did not start in the second.

Top Doorslammer racer Michael Joneskog has a '68 Camaro built by Tim McAmis and powered by a 738ci Reher Morrison engine with nitrous and Bruno Lenco three speed transmission. Michael was placed fourth after the first qualifying session with a 4.21/274 and suffered huge shake in the second session.

Top Doorslammer racer Lenn Lindell has a 1970 'Cuda built by Sjödin Motorsport. The blown engine has a 526ci Brad Anderson Engineering engine with screw blower and clutch Lenco CS1 trans. His best time is 4.10 and he went 4.47/281kkph in the second session.

Top Doorslammer racer Benny Strand was class champion in 2011 and drives a Chevrolet Cobalt with a nitrous-boosted Dart 855cu in engine, ATI Powerglide trans and PBs of 3.997/301.26. His best of 5.02/197 today was good for a position of seventeenth place, outside the 16 car field with two more sessions tomorrow.

Top Doorslammer racer Jörgen Berg has gone the blown route with Brad Anderson equipment, coupled to a Lenco trans and Leanders clutch. He went 4.71/265 after a couple of pedals in session two.

Top Doorslammer racer Åke Eliasson drives a Firebird fibreglass replica and the car was built in 1997 by Jerry Bickle. The engine is a BAE 521ci Hemi with Veney heads and Bruno Lenco. Best times are 3.93/299 and he ran 4.02/306 in the second session. Looking at the times, sixteen drivers improved their times in the second session and we would expect further improvements tomorrow as they get dialled into the track and FIA classes put some rubber down.

Top Doorslammer racer Jonas Malmqvist was 2014 class Champion at the tender age of 21. His Mustang is supercharged with Lencodrive automatic transmission. Best times are 3.92/313 but he could only muster a 5.35/166 in today's sessions.

Top Doorslammer racer Rimbert Vahlström has Bankrobber V which is a Viper, new for this year (the previous Dodge Dart we gather is in storage at Rimbert's workshop) and another to run a Lencodrive automatic. He was delighted to run a new PB in the second session of 3.85/318.

Top Doorslammer racer Stefan Carlsson has a Tim McAmis-built '68 Camaro with BAE engine and Bruno Lenco trans. His best times have been 4.08/297 and so far he has carded a 4.22/300kph.

Top Doorslammer racer Mats Stefansson ran a 4.02/303 to go fourth. He started in the class in 2013 and has run a best of 3.93/319.

Top Doorslammer racer Mikael and crew chief Magnus Lindahl were third at the end of the day's qualifying with a 3.88/306. Magnus said 'The Top Doorslammer class is less hard on the cars. We only rev them to 9000 compared with 10000 as a Pro Mod car which is easier on rods and valve springs even though we run with different gearing over the eighth. We can run a Whipple blower which is more powerful than roots blowers but less hard on belts. We still have a Pro Mod blower and could go back however it would be more costly and we would need more sponsors'.

Top Doorslammer racer Victor Jansson ran a best of 4.14/290 compared with PBs of 3.98/300. The engine is by Pat Musi at 903cu in and Bruno Lenco is the transmission of choice.

Pro Street racer Ulrick Lundström drives this immaculate '55 Chevy. The car has a tube chassis, fibreglass body, 540ci KB engine, Dart heads and 3 speed Lenco gearbox. More details can be seen at www.chevyracing.se.

Super Comp racer Matilda Sjöström-Andersson was no.1 qualifier after the first session. This is her ninth year in racing and third in Super Comp after a spell in Junior Dragsters. The car is Mullis Race Cars with a 560ci engine running on E85 and Powerglide trans.

Super Comp racer Marcus Back Andersson was 2013 Junior Dragster champion and this is his second year in the class. He said 'We have had some problems in the last four races with oil leaks into the intake manifold but don't know why yet. The car is a Mike Bos chassis with 540ci Reher Morrison engine and Marcus qualified no.5 with a 9.18.

Super Gas racer Bosse Hall qualified no.2 with a 10.00. He said 'We have rebuilt the engine with a new camshaft, it is now a 405cu SBC. I need to put a better number in the delay box'. The car had a new chassis two years ago and the rear end was also rebuilt. The car leaves more smoothly and does better 60ft times. But it is not doing wheelstands any more on launching and the photographers are all complaining'. This is Bosse's 32nd year in racing.

Super Gas racer Helena Olsson started racing her Morris Minor four years ago. She said 'I bought the car as a rolling chassis and put a 427ci SBC engine and Powerglide in with Ford nine inch rear. I don't have a throttle stop in it'. Helena races under the team name of Tåmåsby Racing and qualified third with a 10.10.

Super Comp racer Bengt Stafberg had his Gasrat II in the pits but did not make the first session call. The car dates from 1974 with Bengt as driver and most of the chassis and body are original, albeit with new paint to match the old. A 454ci BBC on methanol, Hilborn injectors and TH400 trans help keep the car going. Visitors to Dragstalgia in 2014 will have seen the car at SPR.

Pro Street racer Pär Norgren races his Dodge Avenger which was originally built by Jerry Haas and run in NHRA Pro Stock by Allen Johnson and then was imported by Jöran Persåker. Pär explained that Pro Street is a heads-up unlimited doorslammer class with an index of 7.6 and no delay boxes allowed. The weight limit is 1150kg and Pär's car is on 1160kg. The first run was an off-the pace 10.14. Pär's business is driving school Drivelife.se which operates in Glanshammar.

Pro Street racer Daniel Hållestam is the driver of the reworked Plymouth '59 wagon previously run by Rimbert Valström as Bankrobber after originally being built in 1989. The car has had a new chassis, Reher Morrison 588ci NOS engine, gearbox and rear axle and Daniel has driven it for two years.

Stock/Super Stock racers Carla Pittau and Rick McCann are shown sharing a word with Arto Sulopuisto who has helped many visiting racers solve problems. Carla said 'After our move to Sweden we had problems rebuilding the engine but eventually fired it up yesterday evening. The run this morning was a nice big wheelie to 10.06, a bit off our best of 9.89 with this engine but the rear end ratio is not ideal after we changed the axle'. Living just 30mins from the track Carla said 'We were still late this morning'. The team, as many racing 80s and previous cars, have a problem with finding suitable iron heads that must be original. NHRA is looking at allowing aftermarket heads in Super Stock.

Stock/Super Stock racer Göran Larsson is pictured with the Pontiac Firebird of Arto Sulopuisto. This has a 346ci all aluminium LS-1 engine with electronic fuel injection and Motec electronics. Arto modifies and fits Koni shocks on ten cars in the class. The set-up of shocks needs to be different for European tracks as compared with the US. Göran was instrumental in past years in helping Carla and Rick obtain replacement pushrods at short notice and Dan Williams after a wheelstand damaged the sump and engine mounts.

Stock/Super Stock racer and Eurodragster.com sponsor Nic Williams had a problem on their journey when they turned into some services on a Belgian motorway at midnight. Brother Dan said 'There was a huge hole in the road that had not been coned off and the rear end of the tow truck went in it and cracked a rear brake line so there was no pressure. Fortunately we found a place that does new copper brake lines, they fitted them and we didn't lose much time. The journey only gets nice when you arrive in Sweden. At Malmö we got pulled over at the toll by the Swedish Army who, when they found out what we are doing, said 'Have fun racing' '.

Top Doorslammer racer Jussi Piippolainen races a Turbo '68 Camaro on methanol. The engine is a 596ci Dart Big M Chevy BBC with Turbos and Rossler automatic transmission. Best ET on the eighth is 4.34/278kph, however he didn't make the first session and was shut off in the second. There are 25 cars at the track going for 16 places.

Top Doorslammer racer Mat Wicktor is supported by Eurodragster.com sponsor Wizards of NOS and scored a victory at the recent round held at the Malmö Open. His qualifying time in the first session was 4.65/281kph over the eighth, with tyre shake causing the time to be about a half second slower than at Malmö

Top Doorslammer racer Adam Flamholc is using his US experience in setting up cars to great effect and ran a great 3.85/327kph in the first session this morning, only six hundredths off the car's European best of 3.79. The blown MMR Hemi of 521ci puts its power through a Bruno Lenco automatic trans.

Junior Dragster racer Oskar Norling from Söråker in Sweden was 2014 EDRS Champion and has been racing since 2011. Aged 13, Oskar drives a Mike Bos car from 2010 with Shockwave clutch.

Junior Dragster racer Lucas Karlsson is a member of Adam Flamholc's team and drives a 2006 Halfscale car with Polar Clutch.

Junior Dragster racer Mattias Flamholc is aged 11 and is part of dad Adam's team. Adam will be racing in Top Doorslammer which has two qualifying sessions today. The juniors will contest the EDRS Championship, Central Division.

Junior Dragster racer Fanny Andersson is in her first year of racing. Aged 11, she is a member of SHRA Sundsvall.
