NMC Supertwin Motorcycle qualifying session 4 (left lane first)

Jaska Salakari 13.6227/126.82 bye; Svein Olav Rolfstad 8.0215/258.25 bye; Erling Opheim 10.0729/229.59, Stig Olof Svensson 50.5717/8.67; Roman Sixta 7.4139/304.40, Trond Høiberget 8.0141/240.86; Anders Hörnström 8.5978/235.40, Greger Johansson no time DQ; Ismo Mäenpää 8.1536/211.10, Samu Kemppainen 7.5399/337.71; Vidar Ravnsborg 7.5972/284.06, Per Bengtsson 8.0072/187.11

Consistent run with his previous best for Jaska. Svein Olav on a good run to start with but again the bike would not go straight and he shut off and put the chute out. Stig Olof's motor cut out by the Tree and he rolled very slowly to the top end. Greger left before the lights ran, Anders followed him but luckily for him the Tree was running by then. Great launch for Per, the front end cent down and then up again and Per looked to sit up and I think I saw him take his left hand off the bars. From here difficult to tell what that was about.

Smoke on launch and then a flash of flame from Bo's motor. Ellsa got close to the centre line and shut off. In the last fantastic pair between Fredde and Robert we had Europe's first side-by-side six-second Pro Stock Bike passes and Europe's fastest ever Pro Stock Bike pair.

FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 4 (left lane first)

Monica Öberg 4.3905/405.10 bye; Jari Halinen 4.3615/441.54 bye;

Björn Mårtensson 5.1414/258.87, Antti Horto 4.1840/464.34; Liam Jones 4.0977/472.03, Stefan Gunnarsson 4.2160/435.84; Duncan Micallef 4.1133/423.53, Stig Neergaard 4.2858/353.17;

Anita Mäkelä 3.8785/504.20, Micke Kågered 10.4798/109.96

Monica's last chance to race tomorrow. Left the line with cylinders out on the right side but it was a full pull. 0.9523 to sixty, 2.4482/273.69 at 330 feet and 3.4899/393.30 at the eighth. Jari next to rock up to the Last Chance Saloon. Kerry I can assure you that Jacques is being kept gainfully employed, see yesterday's gallery for more. 0.8926 to sixty for Jari, looking good at 330 feet 2.3886/262.65 but then the nitro flames started to turn solid orange, 3.4757/382.71 at the eighth and a big fireball from the motor which confirmed Jari's spectator status tomorrow. Clean-up crew called to Jari's lane.

On the restart Björn outside the field took on Antti in tomorrow's last racing slot. Antti in a less precarious position 4.184 seconds later - away first 0.1583 to 0.2428, the much better sixty 0.8887 to Björn's 1.0107, Björn shut it off about 300 feet out. Antti to 330 feet in 2.3011/280.96 and the eighth 3.3345/398.23. Up to #7 and tomorrow's field set with the only changes possible now in the top eight. Improvement for Liam and a consistent run for Stefan. Stefan away first 0.0878 to Liam's 0.1032, Liam's incrementals were better from then on though, 0.8918 to Stefan's 0.8944, start line advantage made up at 330 feet 2.2748/295.57 to Stefan's 2.3344/277.92. Liam at the eighth in 3.2660/410.96 (255.36 mph) to Stefan's 3.3627/403.39. Liam stayed on it to the stripe, 293.31 mph, Stefan looked to be off it just before the line. The Maltese Lion with the advantage all the way in his match with Stig, 0.1228 to 0.3373 holeshot, 0.8792 to sixty to Stig's 0.8932, 2.2645/294.28 at 330 feet to Stig's 2.2914/288.77 and 3.2488/413.16 (256.73 mph) at the eighth to Stig's 3.3051/399.70 - Stig's dragster made a move left on the eighth and from here it looked like he got off the gas just before the stripe. Clean-up crew called to the shutdown area.

On the restart Micke's tyres up in smoke at the hit and he shut off as the dragster turned right a few feet out. Fantastic run for Anita! 0.8252 to sixty, 2.1731/310.17 (192.73 mph) at 330 feet, 3.1040/441.90 (274.58 mph) at the eighth. 3.878 your new European ET record backed up by Anita's 3.905 this morning, well done Anita, Tommi, Sami and team! Terminal speed equates to 313.30 mph. I have a faint memory of a 3.88-something not backed up in the past but this is the quickest European 1000 foot pass I can remember. FIA Pro Modified qualifying session 4 (left lane first)

Jan Bränvall shut off; Jöran Persåker no time, Fredrik Lundh 6.4190/339.41; Erik Andersson shut off, Matts Logren 6.7667/281.69 bye (run excluded); Per Granqvist 6.3740/356.20, Freddy Fagerström 6.4556/388.77; Stefan Gustafsson did not start, Åke Persson 6.0526/384.89 bye; Håkan Persson 6.2116/376.31 bye, Samuel Andersson shut off; Odd Erik Fossum 12.4537/107.33, Andreas Arthursson 9.5528/133.90; Robert Joosten no time DQ, Johan Westberg no time DQ; Anders Nilsson 15.1927/85.78, David Vegter 6.4002/371.13; Tero Laukkanen 14.2243.89.88, Roger Johansson 6.0609/386.27; Bruno Bader 6.0567/379.75, Mats Eriksson 5.9635/391.87; Niclas Andersson 12.8337/105.92, Micke Gullqvist 10.1474/211.93

Jan's motor started and then stopped. The crew went to restart but were told to return to the pits by the start area marshal. A few sulks ensued. Fredrik was brought forward to run alongside Jöran instead and his crew were all fingers and thumbs trying to get the starter cables hooked up so as not to keep Jöran waiting. On the green Fredrik was off and running, 1.0410 to sixty, drifting towards the centre line and smoke from the right rear slick, 4.1904/284.36 at the eighth. Fredrik's chute took out the finish line reflector. Jöran sat in stage spooling the turbos for 6.2562 seconds but hit shake when he eventually launched and shut off, already had an ET of 0.5379 courtesy of Fredrik's parachute. Erik shut off on the way back from the burnout, climbed out of the car and jumped over the rail. There's no way that Matts ran a 0.8383 sixty, I suspect that the guard beam was fouled, 4.2361/264.06 came up for the eighth. Smoke as Matts approached the finish line. Timing crew are discussing his run with race officials as I type... and it has been excluded. Great match between Per and Freddy, 1.0222 to sixty for Per and 1.2306 for Freddy, as Freddy's pick-up got to about 400 feet you could see the turbos kick in and it started accelerating hard. Per to the eighth in 4.1432/282.72 to Freddy's 4.4030/303.37. Stefan didn't make the bleach box. Great bye for Åke, 1.0546 to sixty and a storming eighth 3.9936/306.12, straight run with no sign of shake. Samuel shut off after his burnout, out of the car and over the guardrail. Håkan rolled the beams slightly on launch robbing him of some ET, 1.0975 to sixty and 4.1097/300.84 at the eighth. Creeping towards the quickest European Pro Mod bump spot of 6.240 but I think that everyone who could have helped with that has run now. Double shut off for Odd Erik and Andreas, shake and spin did for Odd Erik after 1.0322 sixty, Andreas got to sixty in 1.0292 but there was a puff if smoke from the motor, looked like he pedalled and got off it, more smoke when he did. Robert went way up on the revs and went through stage, Johan heard him and launched, th eTree hadn't even thought of running so no time for him either. Anders's tyres up in smoke at the hit, two pedals with motor screaming and then gave it up at sixty feet 1.2071. 1.0465 to sixty for Robert, shake sent the car towards the centre line, a pedal and back on it but a lot of time lost. 4.2356/288.92 at the eighth. Same story for Tero as for Anders, tyres u in smoke, a pedal and chucked it in. 1.0076 to sixty for Roger, 4.0026/304.23 at the eighth, Mustang was close to the centre line in the second eighth but Roger had a hold of it and moved up the ladder for good measure. Great run between Bruno and Mats! Mats away first 0.090 to 0.110 and the better sixty 1.0103 to Bruno's 1.0335. Bruno's 'Vette started to move towards the guardrail but he stayed with it, Mats with the clear lead at the eighth 3.9415/310.52 to 3.9762/304.74. Mats back into the Five Second Club, which no-one would grudge such a nice and hard-working guy, and up to #3. We expected big things of the final pair but Niclas and Micke G hit simultaneous violent shake at the hit, both off the gas by the Tree.

A big Thank You to Spencer Tramm who has been proof-reading my Pro Modified qualifying lists for the last two days, and to Robin Jackson who has been sending updates on Personal Bests after each session.

FIA Pro Stock qualifying session 4 (left lane first)

Bengt Ljungdhal did not start, Christian Sagelv 6.9748/322.00 bye; Simon Gustafsson 6.8632/323.74, Jan Ericsson 6.7993/325.69; Sampsa Palos 6.6976/333.95, Magnus Pettersson 6.6741/334.99; Michael Malmgren 6.6160/336.66, Richard Sundblom 7.6436/216.78; Thomas Lindström 6.6366/340.26, Jimmy Ålund 8.3918/173.30

Bengt's motor did not start and he was pushed away, he will be spectating tomorrow. As will Christian, 1.0357 to sixty and 4.500/255.32 at the eighth, needed to find another 0.1 to get into the field. Top end crew were out in Christian's lane picking up bits, hopefully nothing serious. Simon visibly away first 0.0894 to 0.1858, a small grunt from the tyres as he drove through shake, 1.0368 to sixty. Jan had the better sixty 1.0164 and was visibly pulling away from Simon before the eighth 4.3508/258.00 to 4.4158/258.99. Wonderfully consistent runs for Sampsa and Magnus. 1.0198 to sixty for Sampsa to Magnus' 0.9966, identical eighth speeds although Magnus had the better ET, 4.3192/266.14 for Sampsa and 4.2970/266.14 for Magnus. Another Personal Best for Michael. 1.0038 to sixty to Nixxon's 0.9905, Nixxon was off the throttle before the eighth, Michael to half track in 4.2632/269.46. Congratulations on the new PB Michael! Not the best Q4 for Jimmy, the better sixty 1.0036 to Thomas' 1.0268 but smoke from the motor and the car made a move o thr left at about 330 feet and Jimmy shut off. Thomas to the eighth in 4.2968/269.90.

As of this morning this is the quickest ever bump spot in European Pro Stock but it's worth repeating.

Looked like a planned launch for Micke, 1.1665 to sixty, off and on the throttle a couple of times. A small splat of fuel on the track where the car was staged. 0.9703 to sixty for Johan to Johnny's 0.9879, Johnny pedalled as the car hit shake and made a move. Looked like no such trouble for Johan, made up the 0.1 start line disadvantage by the eighth 3.7255/336.87 to Johnny's 3.9881/314.14. Johan into #1 spot at that point. Could Leif get his #1 place back? No he couldn't, but Ari could get a new Personal Best. Ari had the better sixty at 0.9802 to Leif's 1.0051 and the better eighth at 3.8097/322.97 to Leif's 3.8178/323.16. Congratulations on the PB Ari!

FIA Top Methanol Dragster qualifying session 4 (left lane first)

Stefan Gunnarsson shut off, Jonny Lagg 22.2013/41.57 bye;

Stefan shut off immediately after his burnout, crew quickly helped him out of the car and over the guardrail so that Jonny could run. Jonny's tyres up in smoke at the hit, 1.5149 to sixty tells the tale and already shut off by then.

Shake at the hit for Fredrik, a couple of pedals then let it go. 1.0706 to sixty for Micke, 4.2049/291.11, right on the stripe his motor made a groaning noise and there was a puff of smoke. Marko got to sixty in 1.0673 and then it all turned to worms, shake and the car turned hard left, and I mean ninety degrees. Marko pulled it back and the car ended up 180 degrees to the eight pointing at the guardrail. On the brakes and pulled it straight and to the middle of his lane and a spontaneous rounf of applause broke out here in Race Control. Great driving job. Åke looked to roll the beams affecting his ET, shake-free 1.4745 to sixty tells the tale. Erik's tyres went up in smoke, one pedal then gave it up. Good morning and welcome from Tierp Arena for our coverage of the Scandinavian Internationals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.

Another beautiful morning here, not a cloud in the sky.

As you can see we are running the popular split-screen reports again this weekend. We will be providing full reports, qualifying and elimination details for Pro classes and commentaries for the Sportsman classes whose full qualifying standings you will be able to find at right. Per the running order again kindly provided by Tomas Pettersson we are due to start with eliminations in Junior Dragster, Stock/Super Stock, Super Gas, Super Gas Bike and Super Comp Bike and then the first of our Pro sessions, due in the pairing lanes at 09:50, the other being 13:50.

The Web TV continues today; one payment of €15 buys you the whole event days. You can sign up at ppv.smarttv.se. As ever when it's not us providing the service, E-Mails regarding the webcast will go straight into Deleted Items.

I must say a big Thank You to Kirstie and Patrik who spent a long day out in the sun yesterday, and also Thursday in Kirstie's case. Not for them the popping in and out of the Media Centre like weather houses when the Pros appear but dedication to duty which is much appreciated. Kirstie is headed to the shutdown area today so you can look forward to parachute shots and other top end-ery.

Gijs and Susanne asked us to say a big Good Morning to their and our buddy Maikel Gloudemans of our streaming service provider Doyousee.me. No sooner said than done, hope you are doing OK M@ik.

You probably get sick of reading this sort of thing, not as sick as I am getting of selfish and unprincipled scumbags, but if I just say race reports, copying, due credit, theft, you'll go straight to hell then the vast majority of decent people amongst you will know where I'm coming from.

Tune back at 09:00 and we will start to bring you all the news from the track.
