FIA Top Fuel dragster final

Thomas Nataas 3.9559/500.46 def. Antti Horto 4.1155/418.93

No stopping the Andersens / Batman combination in this one, Thomas in imperious form. Away first 0.0936 to Antti's 0.1342, the better sixty 0.8696 to 0.8736, Antti looked to have a cylinder out but Thomas was out front anyway with the better eighth 3.1748/437.96 to Antti's 3.2483/407.55. Antti shut it off before the stripe. Thomas' 3.955 is a new European record, and his speed backs up his earlier 501.86 for a new speed record. Well done Per, Karsten, Thomas and the team!

17:00

Tero Laukkanen 5.9556/412.53 def. Micke Gullqvist 5.9031/394.74

Tero's first five and his first event win, won on a 0.1509 to 0.2888 holeshot. Huge speed (256.33 mph) too fast to be backed up by his earlier runs, unfortunately.

16:58

FIA Top Methanol Funny Car final

Leif Andréasson 5.5952/417.96 def. Johan Lindberg 5.9640/419.91

Johan provisionally 2014 FIA Top Methanol FC Champion with an unassaiable points lead but that to be confirmed by the Championship Co-ordinator. They do say that you lose your first race after the Championship! Leif away first 0.1300 to 0.1580, 0.9604 to sixty whilst Johan hit shake on his sixty of 1.0747. Johan pedalled twice whilst Leif shot away into the distance, 3.7046/333.12 at the eighth to Johan's 4.0671/328.47.

16:54

FIA Top Methanol Dragster final

Manty Bugeja 5.3291/433.04 bye

Magnus' car headed towards the guardrail but he hung on to it and didn't try anything drastic. Michael with the quicker eighth 4.2892/265.49 to Magnus' faster 4.2950/267.33, Magnus' start line advantage was enough.

Micke Gullqvist 5.9391/393.87 def. Roger Johansson 6.0887/386.27

13:55

FIA Top Methanol Funny Car eliminations round 2

Johan Lindberg 5.4921/424.53 def. Johnny Oksa 6.6665/372.93

Johnny visibly moved first 0.0758 to 0.1355 but hit instant shake. 1.4175 to sixty with tyres shaking then off the pedal for a couple of seconds. No such problems for Johan, 0.9478 to sixty and 3.6348/338.98. Johnny eventually got back on the gas but it was all over by then. This needs to be ratified by the Championship Co-ordinator but we think that Johan is 2014 FIA European Top Methanol FC Champion-elect as he appears to have an unassailable points lead.

Leif Andréasson 6.9882/216.35 bye

1.0449 to sixty with a little shake, haze from the left bank of headers at the eighth 3.9063/262.65 and off the gas by then.

13:50

FIA Top Methanol Dragster eliminations round 2

Manty Bugeja 5.3527/427.55 bye, Chris Polidano broke

Chris' motor went up on the revs for the burnout but then stopped dead. Moments later the steering wheel was thrown from the cockpit and Chris climbed out, thumping the car for good measure. Manty took a storming bye, 0.9273 to sixty and 3.5087/347.27 at the eighth.

Stefan Gunnarsson no show

No sign of Stefan for his bye so Manty only needs to take the green in the final for the event win.

13:45

FIA Pro Stock eliminations round 2

Michael Malmgren 6.6796/332.72 def. Jimmy Ålund 6.5822/342.64

Daylight 0.0345 to 0.2095 holeshot did the job for Michael although he had the better sixty 0.9958 to Jimmy's 1.0155 with shake. Jimmy up on ET but down on speed at the eighth 4.2560/271.90 to 4.2917/304.40, the speed difference at the eighth made Michael's holeshot too much to overcome.

Magnus Pettersson 6.6625/335.82 def. Tommy Leindahl 6.9859/325.30

Another huge visible holeshot in this one, 0.0457 to 0.2927 in Tommy's favour but then Magnus did a great job of catching him up with the better sixty 0.9893 to 1.0385 and the much better eighth 4.2583/26.26 to Tommy's 4.5313/255.80. New PB for Magnus, well done Magnus and team!

13:35

FIA Top Fuel Dragster eliminations round 2

Thomas Nataas 3.9574/501.86 def. Duncan Micallef 4.1020/490.46

Great race! Thomas away first 0.0899 to 0.1097 and the better sixty foot time 0.8732 to 0.8973. Clean straight run for Thomas whist Duncan's dragster was fishtailing quite severely but the brave Maltese Lion stayed with it. Absolutely storming 3.1764/437.25 to the eighth for Thomas, Duncan's 3.3030/429.94 was hardly hanging about either. Thomas on new European ET and speed records, the speed equates 311.84 mph, the fastest Top Fuel speed since we went to 1000 feet and the first 500 kmh Top Fuel Dragster run since we went to 1000 feet. Well done Per, Karsten, Thomas and the team!

Antti Horto 4.0827/468.75 def. Urs Erbacher 12.6371/49.93

Antti away first 0.1036 to 0.1057 and got to sixty in 0.8760 to Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs' 0.9165 Urs hit shake and pedalled a couple of times then his blower relief panel blew with a flash of flame and the chutes deployed. Antti to the eighth in 3.2483/407.24, clean and straight run, looked to shut it off a touch early.

Urban Johansson 17.9006/57.78 bye, Norbert Kuno no show

Norbert a no show, as you'll recall there was smoke and fluid on the track after his victory in round 1. Urban's tyres didn't light on the burnout and the motor sounded to be misfiring. Instant shake at the hit, 1.1384 to sixty and off the gas.

Duncan's car was moving towards the centre line and was quite lively even after he had pulled it back. Anita with the better eighth 3.2061/399.70 to Duncan's 3.3295/412.84 but then smoke and flame from her motor and she shut it off.

Urs Erbacher 5.8584/299.17 def. Chris Andrews 6.3832/161.97

A few anxious looks up at the sky before Chris and Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs staged. Chris away first and wheels up 0.1039 to 0.1326 and the better sixty 0.8761 to Urs' 0.9264. Chris pedalled once for shake, Urs pedalled twice then got off it. Then from here it looked as if Chris' blower belt broke, either way he shut off about 400 feet out. There was a moment of silence and then you could see the light bulb go on over Urs' roll cage and he got on the gas again. Chris to the eighth rolling at 4.2364/190.81 to Urs' 4.5808/245.57 under power and catching fast. 10:15

FIA Pro Modified eliminations round 1

Niclas Andersson 6.2076/376.57 def. Benny Strand 6.6378/290.79

Will be interesting to see what happens here. As we all know it's a good track but conditions far from ideal. Hundred-foot burnouts by both. Niclas visibly moved first 0.0879 to Benny's 0.2193, Benny had the better sixty 0.9841 to 1.0221. Both hit shake and pedalled and then both picked up, Niclas had the better eighth 4.1066/300.33 to Benny's 4.2273/285.11 but then smoke and a flash of flame from Benni's motor just past the eighth and that was his race done.

Roger Johansson 5.9672/386.62 def. Freddy Fagerström 6.2278/360.96

OK so no more comments about the conditions! Roger just away first 0.0723 to 0.0728 and had the better sixty 0.9847 to Freddy's 0.9924. No sign of shake for either but black haze from both banks of Roger's motor. Roger with a bigger advantage at the eighth 3.9243/308.22 to Freddy's 4.0369/293.00. Freddy looked to shut it off just before the stripe, Roger on it all the way and into the fives. Well done Roger and team!

Tami Brander 6.0466/378.68 def. Mattias Wulcan 6.0402/390.74

Holeshot win for Tami, a big scalp too. 0.1006 to 0.1501 holeshot, Mattias had the better sixty 1.0059 to 1.0085 but Tami had the better eighth 3.9583/302.35 to Mattias' 3.9983/306.64, Mattias' car was swaying left and right and he was catching fast in the second eighth but Tami's start line advantage was too much.

Urban Johansson 6.0419/377.09 def. Marc Meihuizen 6.2074/296.22

Marc got away first 0.0521 to Urban's 0.2043, and had the better sixty 0.9922 to Marc's 1.0093, still ahead at the eighth with a very rapid 3.8964/311.60 to Urban's 3.9709/304.40 - nothing visibily amiss from here but Urban got past Marc who evidently shut it off early.

Norbert Kuno 6.4096/280.96 def. Mats Eriksson 6.3892/385.44

Norbert just away first 0.0237 to Mats' 0.0897, the better sixty 0.9827 to Mats' 1.0528 with shake. Mats pedalled once and then his tyres were visibly spinning. Norbert with a great 3.9759/286.78 at the eighth to Mats' 4.3054/296.87, then smoke from Norbert's motor in the second eighth and the Avenger started to slow. Mats was catching up but Norbert's eighth-mile advantage was enough and he took the stripe by 0.0460. Looks like Norbert could have had a price to pay as he left a fluid trail from the eighth to the quarter.

Anders Nilsson 6.4315/363.15 def. Bruno Bader 7.9357/326.68

Anders strapped a whopping, more than visible 0.0802 to 0.3697 holeshot on Bruno. 0.9994 to sicty to Bruno's shake-ridden 1.4725. Bruno pedalled a couple of times but Anders was long gone by the eighth 4.2243/284.21, Bruno off it by that point.

Tero Laukkanen 6.1069/403.29 def. Robert Joosten 6.2394/372.67

Huge holeshot for Tero 0.0319 to Robert's 0.2488, Robert with the better sixty 0.9950 to 1.0044 and the quicker eighth 4.0889/289.39 to Tero's faster 4.1082/305.78 despite getting close to the guardrail. The top end charge of the turbo car made all the difference and Tero on the first half of a new European speed record, well done Tero! Close thing as his 399.11 in qualifying was only good up to 403.14.

Micke Gullqvist 5.8700/397.06 def. Johan Westberg 6.5010/355.73

Micke in imperious form here after being smacked on the start line by Johan's 0.1281 to his 0.3069. 0.9732 to sixty to Johan's, the Camaro looked to have its front left wheel up for a fair way and then started moving around its lane but Micke had a hold of it. Stormer at the eighth 3.8664/313.04, Johan a spectator by then at 4.2252/280.81. Micke does the first half of a European ET record, well done Micke!

Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the Turtle Wax Internationals brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car.

Today's Smart TV Web TV broadcast is available for €15. More details at www.smarttv.se. Please note that as we are not producing this webcast, comments about it on our Facebook pages will be removed and any E-Mails about it will be deleted unread.

Heavy overcast but dry here at Tierp, although none too warm - it is positively autumnal outside. The track is being sledded and is bone dry judging by the squeals for mercy from the slicks on the sled. Finishing touches are being applied to the shutdown area.

The traditional Raceday Good Morning to our US Correspondent Kathy Hileman who is currently visiting Amsterdam and judging by her travelogues is having a good time. What we need to know Kathy is whether, when you got to the Cheese Museum, they, in fact, had no cheese at all? A big Hello also to our Eurodragster.com colleagues Simon and Grace who are reporting on the Open Sport Nationals at Shakespeare County Raceway. Finally god morgon and congratulations to our good buddy and Honorary Eurodragster.com Staff Member Christer Abrahamson who took the win in a historic race at Mantorp Park yesterday. Christer has unfortunately had the motorsport equivalent of a sex change and has been fired but there is always a chance that we can rescue him from the circuit madness. His kidnap and detention in a dark room for deprogramming are currently being planned.

The running order kindly supplied to us by Race Director Tomas Pettersson and available via our Event Index has an 09:00 start with Comp Eliminator eliminations followed by FIA Pro Modified and other FIA eliminations. Stay tuned and as soon as the first pair fires up we'll bring you the news.
