Comp Eliminator qualifying session 2

Looked like problems for both Peter Emilsson and Stig Olsson in the first pair, both shut off early and Peter put his chute out. Huge burnout by Björn Johansen before his atch-up with Daniel Jedborn, then Daniel took the headlines on his run moving all over his lane, front end of the slingshot very skittish. Lars-Georg Johansson up to #1 from #4, fantastic run over a second under index. Roger Hyrskylahto with problems after his burnout shut off at 200 feet and jumped the guardrail so that Jan Ekström could take his bye. Tyres up in smoke but safely past Roger's Monte Carlo. Session closed by Peter Thörnäs, first run of the event, in at #12.

14:10

Then a brief hold for a sprinkle of rain, short-lived and track not affected beyond the inconvenience. On the restart Jarmo Markkanen moved up from #27 to #5. Ari Körkkö closed out the session moving up from #28 to #5.

10:10

Consistent pass by Kristina Nygren, 8.9047, her Q1 time still good for #2 spot. No time for Micke Nilsson next pair, left before the lights ran. Next pair and Niklas Öhlin moved up from #5 to #4 with his 8.9318. Great screaming 100-foot burnout by Linus Wallberg before his match-up with Bengt Stafberg in the Gasrat nostalgia altered. Screaming 8.5690 breakout to match the burnout!

Next up is Pro session 1, so we are moving to our Pro report page which you can check out by clicking here or by going to the Event Index page.

Simon Gustafsson up to #2 next pair, 10.6969 breakout for Ulf Skytte. Christer Gustafsson slowed it down enough to go into #3 spot 10.9658, Marie Wallin right behnd him at #4 with a 10.9744. 10.9693 for Tomas Hägg pretty consistent with yesterday's run to consolidate his #1 spot.

09:55

Junior Dragster qualifying session 2

A pair of red lights to start the session from Victor Heleander and Jennifer Östergren. Patrik Thun Jensvold and Simon Andersson up next, up to #5 and #7 respectively. More late-generation racers next, Mattias Flamholc and Johnny Dantanus, Johnny up to #6 with a 0.0770 and a red from Mattias. Next generation next up again, Kevin Nataas stayed in #4. 0.038 good for a move from #9 to #4 for Marcus Back Andersson. First run of the event for Erik Leanders, motor stopped at the hit. Balder Poolsaar also making his first run, 0.1823 RT good for #12.

09:45

Super Gas Bike qualifying session 1

Reigning Champion Tomas Jonsson in at #1 in the third pair with a 9.5510, in the other lane some naughtiness from Mikael Mannström with a 9.3291 breakout. Jarkko Niemi in at #2 next pair with a 9.6308. Carol Fodor's 9.7445 good for #3 next pair. 9.4124 breakout for Emil Östlund to close the session.

Super Comp Bike qualifying session 1

Pelle Lakmaker heads the three-bike field the three with an 8.5183.

Super Street Bike qualifying session 1

8.4134 for Roberth Häggblom in the first pair, Tommie Johansson 8.8288. Anders Blanck's bike headed for the guardrail next pair and he had to shut it off, #1 for Per Emborg's 8.2811 in the other lane. Leif Larsson's tyr eup in smoke at the hit next pair. Great 7.7571 by Mogens Lund to take over #1, Niclas Johansson in the other lane into the sevens for #2 spot, 7.792. Top end reflectors checked as both racers got very close to the centre line at the stripe. Jesper Johansson in at #3 with an 8.0096 next pair, in the other lane Nichlas Sverin pulled a couple of sizeable wheelies. Good-looking run for Håkan Genberg but shut it off in the second half.

09:30

Comp Eliminator qualifying session 1

In the first pair an 7.8103 on an 8.40 index for Lars-Georg Johansson but he was off the throttle at the eighth so that would have been even more spectacular had it been a full pull. 8.0610 on an 8.77 for Jens Eklund in his Audi next pair, good for #1 at that point. 6.8770 on a 7.39 for Andreas Arthursson next pair, good for #3 at that point, Stefan Persson had problems getting off the line in the other lane but picked up a few hundred feet out. Ygnve Solberg in at #4 with a 6.6755 on 7.12 next pair, Niklas Heikkiläa in at number five in the other lane. High-speed back-up from his burnout by Odd Erik Fossum, his back-up looked a bit puffed by the time they got back. Out of shape 6.6046 good for #3 spot whilst in the other lane PerErik Lindgren took # spot in an understanted fashion. Next pair and Daniel Jedborn's crew tried to adjust the wheelie bar when the car was staged, jumped back just in time, a braver man than me. Wild ride for Jan Ekström next pair, the dragster moved to the left then the rear left slick sideswiped the guardrail, looked like a glancing blow and the car cariied on its way so obviously Jan and dragster quite OK. Peter Emilsson pushed back after his burnout in the final pair, bye for Matti Rajamäki, in at #13.

09:15

Super Comp qualifying session 1

Yesterday's Super Comp session null and void so we're starting with a clean sheet today. Former Junior Dragster racer Kevin Yrjövaara opened the session with a big breakout, 8.3438, Leif Andersson in the other lane into the 8.9s off the trailer (yes I know he got it off the trailer yesterday) for number one spot. That lasted a few seconds: a superb run for Micke Nilsson in the second pairing, 8.9010 to take #1. Angelica Bäckman pushed back before staging next pair Kristina Nygren took the bye and into #2 at that point with a nice 8.9023. Long burnout by Robin Norén next pair, Niklas Ohlin in the other lane into #4 and Robin #5. Fair wheelie by Richard Beltramo next pair but shut it off about 400 feet out and idled though. Looked like problems getting gear for Linus Wallberg, in the other lane Per Norling had the chute out before the stripe and still clocked 9.1341. Mikael Andersson's chute dropped out at the hit, he did the complete quarter under power with the chute out and still clocked 9.1490. Problems for Mattias Edvinsson in the final run of the session, stopped on the track about 100 feet out then restarted and idled up the track.

Stock / Superstock qualifying session 1

Big wheelie from Ari Körkkö which one would expect but after the car came down it wheelied again and then again and was heading for the centre line, Ari eventually shut it off. Lane check and looked from here like some small pieces picked up off the track. Lennart Nyling into #1 next pair with a 10.8351 on an 11.40 index. Håkan Nordström next up and took over #1 with a 9.9584 on an 11.00 index. Uffe Edwardson into #2 next pair. Wheelie of the day so far for Kjell Gisslar next pair, in at #6. Bengt Ljungdahl in at #4 with a bye whilst the left lane was cleaned up, a check of the entire length of the lane followed then Rick McCann in the bleach box shut off as oil was found. On the restart Rick's Camaro pulled the most abrupt wheelie I think I have ever seen it pull, one moment it was flat and the next it was up at 45 degrees and not much time in between. Rick in at 11th at that point, good baseline pass. Tarmo Mikkola in at #5 next pair. Looked like problems getting gear for Jarmo Markkanen next pair, idled it through. Wayward wheelie for Timo Eronen, went to pay a visit to our photographer Patrik Jacobsson, backed off and idled through. Lasse Bodén in at #5 in the final pairing.
