Sverre Dahl 6.4130/345.27, Peter Svensson shut off; Jan Sturla Hegre 6.8666/243.90, Peter Andersson Ström 6.5307/347.04;

Peter S shut off before staging. Sverre took a great bye, 1.1122 to sixty and 4.2269/293.48 at the eighth. That bike which Jan Sturla rides is going to be very rapid when it goes straight. 1.0570 to sixty and 4.1634/274.90 at the eighth, Jan Sturla had to get off the throttle when the bike got close to the left guardrail in the second half. 1.1331 to sixty for Peter A and 4.3135/285.71 at the eighth.

FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 4 (left lane first)

Timo Lehtimäki 6.5131/158.82 bye; Micke Kågered 4.4825/364.86 bye; Chris Andrews 4.1619/472.44 bye; Patrik Pers 4.4986/285.81, Stig Neergaard 4.9863/238.83; Thomas Nataas 4.3347/322.39, Anita Mäkelä 3.9747/487.36

Timo's tyres didn't light on the burnout. Didn't harm to start with, 0.9288 to sixty but then the rear slicks started to smoke about 250 feet out, a pedal and tried again and the tyres hazed again so off the gas. Smoke from the left side of the motor after Timo shut off. Timo spectating tomorrow as was Micke going into his bye, and as he is after his bye. 0.8897 to sixty, a pedal a couple of hunderd feet out. 2.4539/254.72 to 330 feet then another pedal, green flame and then an orange flash from the motor and the blower belt came off before the eighth 3.5164/388.77. Chris the next in the Last Chance Saloon and very deftly stepped out of it. 0.9169 to sixty, 2.3411/285.11 at 330 feet, 3.3369/414.75 at the eighth but then flame started to lick around the back of the motor although Chris sounded to stay with it right to the stripe. Up to seventh place and safely in tomorrow's ladder. Great starts for Patrik and Stig, 0.8820 and 0.8737 to sixty feet respectively. Patrik had the better 330 foot 2.2665/288.15 to Stig's 2.2860/281.54 but then a small fire and then a much bigger ball of flame and he was off the gas and chutes out at the eighth. Stig was also off the gas before the eighth but it was not clear from here what the problem was, nothing visible. Track crew were picking up small pieces in both lanes. Fantastic pass for Anita to consolidate #1 spot and also set the first half of a European ET record. 0.8886 to sixty, 2.2261/304.04 to 330 feet, that's 188.92 mph, 3.1754/430.62 at the eighth and that's 267.57 mph. A cloud of smoke from the motor and something substantial came off Anita's car when she put the chutes out, we think maybe the puke tank as clean-up is underway in Anita's lane. Anita's terminal speed equates to 302.83 mph. Thomas got to sixty in 0.8822, 2.2571/298.67 at the eighth but then his motor started to smoke and he was off the gas before the eighth 3.2507/375.00.

Micke up to #3 from the Last Chance Salooon. 0.9855 to sixty, 4.2666/267.06 at the eighth, car went the long way round, went close to the centre line, so more in there. Ulf spectating tomorrow. Improvement for Mats but also spectating tomorrow. Improvement for Christian good for a place up the ladder, 1.0202 to sixty and 4.3615/262.65 at the eighth. The top eight safe at this point. Very bad shake for Michael at the hit and off the gas passing the Tree. 1.0282 to sixty for Jan P, 4.3857/258.62 at the eighth and off the gas there or sooner. Johan Samuelsson 7.0172/265.62, Anders Nilsson 6.3715/372.41; Micke Gullqvist 5.8721/399.70, Tero Laukkanen 9.9876/126.79; Johan Westberg 6.4845/322.00, Patrik Wikström 6.1697/371.64; Mats Eriksson did not start, Håkan Persson 6.1803/376.04 bye; Niclas Andersson 6.1187/371.64, Tami Brander 6.0325/377.62; Roger Johansson 6.0486/381.63, Robert Joosten 8.1295/180.48; Marc Meihuizen 5.9627/391.30, Mattias Wulcan 5.9154/395.60

1.0921 to Stefan, some shake with the front wheels in the air then picked up when the front came down. 4.3481/278.35 at the eighth. Stefan won't be in the primary ladder tomorrow although whoever ends up #17 will be deputising for David Vegter. Norbert into tomorrow's ladder at that point, 1.0010 to sixty with tyres sounding to spin, 4.1860/285.41 at the eighth. Gear changes sounded quite launguid. Instant shake for both Stefan and Fredrik, Stefan off the pedal before the eighth when his car took a hard right. Fredrik off the throttle by about 300 feet. Jan to sixty in 1.0290 to Peter's 1.1634 driving through shake by the sound of it, Jan going great guns towards the eighth 4.1662/242.37 when there was a bang and the blower belt came off the car. 4.5218/263.54 to the eighth for Peter, an improvement but not in the primary ladder tomorrow. Terje expected to be in the top sixteen but #18 coming into his pairing. Terje away first 0.0756 to 0.6668 and the better sixty 1.0229 to 1.0709, his car then started to drift left and pretty much ran along the centre line before taking out the eighth-mile reflectors. Mats' eighth-mile numbers not valid but his ET and speed perfectly good and good for a couple of places up the ladder, not in the primary ladder tomorrow though.

Anders back into tomorrow's ladder having been bumped out earlier. 0.9876 to sixty, pedal for shake, 4.2295/290.48 at the eighth. No improvement for Johan and he is in neither ladder tomorrow. Next up, Micke G's last chance and Tero's attempt to back up his speed record. As we predicted, Micke pulled out the big one with the first half of new ET and speed records. 0.9979 to sixty, 3.8865/315.97 to the eighth, #1 spot, new PB in Europe, he did it all. Well done Micke! Micke's speed equates to 248.36 mph. Shake for Tero, he stayed on it to about 200 feet then got off the gas. Great run for Patrik moved him up from #11 to #8. 1.0257 to sixty, 4.0447/296.87 to the eighth, straight clean run. 1.1266 to sixty for Johan, looked to have a little shake, 4.2358/289.54 at the eighth. No improvement but in the B ladder tomorrow and/or well placed for an alternate for the primary ladder. Mats' motor would not start and he was pushed away. Håkan took the bye, great run! 1.0036 to sixty, 4.0683/297.68 to the eighth and up to #10. Great match-up between Niclas and Tami, straight clean runs save for a lot of clutch dust from Niclas' car. 1.0010 to sixty for Niclas to Tami's 0.9951, Niclas to the eighth in 3.9877/297.52 to Tami's 3.9532/302.69, Tami leapfrogged Niclas in the ladder. Another consistent pass for Roger. 1.0023 to sixty to Robert's 1.0083, Robert hit shake, pedalled, then got off it as the car went for the centre line. Roger to the eighth in 3.9780/304.05. Another fantastic pair to end the session. Mattias had the better sixty 0.9863 to Marc's 1.0221 and the better eighth 3.9025/311.78 to Marc's 3.9314/309.10 , an improvement but stayed in third. Marc remained second with his earlier pass.

Micke's FC not showing much sign of its sideswipe of the guardrail in Q3. Micke shut off for a fluid leak after returning from his burnout. 0.9851 to sixty for Johan and then shake, a pedal about 150 feet out and the car jumped in the air and bounced a couple of times, back on the gas to the eighth 4.1929/261.25 and then off the hard pedal. As things stand, Johan will be racing brother Jonnie in the first round tomorrow. Clean-up in Micke's lane.

First timed run of the weekend for Timo. Car left the line relatively gently, 1.1378 to sixty and smoke from the right side of the motor. 2.8697/233.87 to 330 feet and the Finnish flag came off the car at that point. 4.1186/324.91 at the eighth and a flash of flame from the motor. 0.9391 to sixty for Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs, 0.9221 for Chris, Urs had the quicker 330 foot 2.3512/293.16 to Chris' 2.3797/280.37. Urs to the eighth in 3.3556/401.19, a flash of flame from Chris' motor justbefoe the eighth 3.4480/353.63 and it may have been a trick of the light but it looked as if Urs' motor had a small fire also just passing the eighth. Both cars stopped on the shutdown area and needed retrieval. Great match between Stig and Patrik, Stig taking over first place. Stig to sixty in 0.8848 to Patrik's 0.8914, the better 330 foot also 2.2651/299.00 to 2.3042/288.46 and ahead and faster at the eighth 3.2334/425.53 to Patrik's 3.3061/407.85. A cloud of smoke from Duncan's motor before the stripe. 0.8903 to sixty for Jari to Antti's 0.9062, both cars looked to be acclerating hard to 330 feet, Jari there in 2.2752/291.89 to Antti's 2.3264/280.37. Jari still going great guns at the eighth 3.2687/407.85 but Antti was off the gas at the eighth 3.5400/282.57 although it was not obvious from here what the problem was. Jari up to third. Having just seen Stig knock their driver off #1 spot the Andersen Racing team applauded Stig as he returned to the pits which was a nice touch. Fantastic match between Anita and Thiomas to end the session. Thomas away first 0.0833 to 0.1698 and the better sixty 0.8964 to 0.8994. Anita was starting to hit the numbers herself by 330 feet 2.2492/301.17 - check out that 330 foot speed which equates to 187.14 mph - to Thomas' 2.2731/293.16. Joran's car stumbled off the line, 1.3654 to sixty but then picked up, fishtailing but Jöran hung on to it. 4.7885/271.08 at the eighth and a big speed at the big end but then into the gravel trap at the end of the track. Jöran is perfectly OK.

On the restart 1.0455 to sixty for Jari, the 'Vette stepped left passing the Tree but Jari hung on to it. 4.9590/220.59 at the eighth, motor sounded to be flatlined before then. 1.0295 to sixty for Johan, I heard two gear changes but then didn't hear any more. 4.3092/272.73 at the eighth, looked to shut it off early. Peter shut off after his burnout and was pushed back. 1.0533 to sixty for Patrik, tyres already shaking by then. A pedal and the tyres shook again and the Camaro started to move around its lane, one more pedal then gently off the throttle. Clean-up in Peter's lane.

1.0123 to sixty for Anders, instant shake for Mats and he shut it off as the Crown Victoria moved hard left. One pedal from Anders also then 4.2597/290.79 at the eighth and up to fourteenth. Instant shake for Stefan G, 1.3270 followed by a long pedal and then back on the gas. 1.0991 to sixty for Stefan H, the car moved to the left with tyres still shaking and Stefan shut it off. 1.0430 to sixty for Jan and then shake and a pedal as the Badillac went for the centre line, 1.1163 to sixty for Norbert S, no shake, looked good. 4.2830/288.77 to the eighth for Jan pulling the car back from the centre, 4.8430/234.38 for Norbert. Jan on the nominal bump at that point, Norbert improved but held position. Tero with another shot at the European speed record after this run and another Nitrous stormer for Roger. Roger had the better sixty 0.9928 to 1.2286 and the much better eighth 3.9612/303.88 even though drifting towards the centre line briefly, 4.3538/299.50 at the eighth for Tero and then the turbo went into hyperspace in the second half. Well done Tero! His speed equates to 248.92 mph. 1.1282 to sixty for Norbert K, tyres shaking badly by then and off the gas soon after. 1.0596 to sixty for Mats, 4.4467/257.14 at the eighth, clean straight pass, improvement but stayed in place. Screaming burnout by Micke and then a bang from the motor, all OK though since he backed up without any drama and made his run. 1.0679 to sixty for Fredrik and 4.2325/280.37 at the eighth, Micke to the eighth in 1.2398 with tyres shaking, troubled-looking 5.1587/228.23 at the eighth, off the gas, smoke from the motor. Track checked for its whole length and mop-level clean-up ensued.

330-foot burnout by Terje on the restart, Terje on the nominal bump going into this run and Urban not qualified. 1.0837 to sixty for Terje then shake and a long pedal before getting back on the hard pedal. Great start for Urban, 0.9875 to sixty and a none-too-shabby 4.0868/287.08 at the eighth but shut it off in the second half, nothing obviously wrong. No speed came up for Terje. Urban up a couple of places but not enough to be racing tomorrow; one chance left of course. Robert and Micke G signalled to fire up but then shut off as a call came from the top end for clean-up. This is turning into the Pro Mod session which wouldn't die.

Very short burnout by Robert, off the gas as soon as his rear wheels crossed the stage line. Very strong sixties for both, 0.9911 for Robert and 0.9954 for Micke, then Micke G sounded to have problems engaging a gear and shut if off before the eighth. 3.9631/304.57 to the eighth for Robert and up to second. The Championship leader has one chance left to get into the field but we've been here before and he usually pulls out the big one. 1.1032 to sixty for Håkan with tyres shaking and motor screaming for mercy, shut it off and pulled over to the edge of his lane and idled it through. 1.1254 to sixty for Johan, 4.2713/288.92 at the eighth with a slight drift to the right, no improvement on his previous best. Huge burnout by Freddy, light-speed back-up, you know how it goes. But then shut off for a fluid leak as soon as he got back to the start line. Benny took the bye, 0.9929 to sixty, 4.0665/289.23 at the eighth and a PB judging by the altitude achived by his crew, well done Benny! Hold for clean-up in Freddy's lane.

Fantastic match between Tami and Marc. Marc had the better sixty 1.0037 to 1.0262, meteoric 3.8891/311.96 eighth-mile to Tami's 4.0147/298.01 which wasn't a slouch itself. Two clean straight runs, no sign of shake. Marc into #1, as good a run as that was not an improvement for Tami which says a lot about his form this weekend. Great match between Mattias and Niclas to end the session. 1.0028 to sixty for Niclas to Mattias' 1.0231, side-by-side three at the eighth 3.9370/310.34 for Mattias to 3.9359/302.35 for Niklas. Improvement for Niclas but stayed in place, consistency from Mattias.

FIA Top Methanol Dragster qualifying session 3 (left lane first)

Jonny Lagg 5.4648/428.23 bye; Paul Ingar Udtian 5.7549/286.62 bye, Tethys shut off

Superb run for Jonny, very competent pass. 0.9937 to sixty, car moved gently left and right about 300 feet out but Jonny had it covered. 3.6625/353.87 at the eighth, into #1 spot with a new PB to boot. Well done Jonny, Krister, Peter and the guys! Tethys' idle speed didn't sound at all right before staging and he was signalled to shut it off. Paul Ingar took the bye. 0.9642 to sixty, really going to the eighth 3.6064/335.82 and then his blower burst panel blew right on 1000 feet 4.6611/347.71 and deployed both chutes.

Qualifying after this session:

  1. Jonny Lagg 5.4648/428.23

Johan Lindberg 7.6637/175.72, Adam Flamholc 5.8284/414.11; Danny Bellio 6.6916/242.15, Jonnie Lindberg 5.5504/432.69; Ari Pietilä 5.9978/365.36, Micke Larsson 8.4773/179.52 DQ; Leif Andréasson 5.5200/420.23, Ulf Leanders 5.5135/423.20

Johan had the better sixty 0.9629 to Adam's 1.0086 but he quickly hit shake and had to pedal as the FC turned right. One pedal and the car picked up but it had got an evil bounce on and Johan shut it off after the eighth 4.1274/231.96. 3.9017/324.52 to the eighth for Adam. All eyes on Jonnie, 5.491 or better and 428.36 or better to back up yesterday's candidate records. And that's the world best speed backed up with an identical terminal to yesterday's run, well done Jonnie! Visible holeshot for Danny but Jonnie had the better sixty 0.9642 to 0.9712, Jonnie's car was moving left and right around its lane and I think I saw one pedal. Jonnie to the eighth in 3.7174/341.56 to Danny's 3.9109/258.87, Danny's FC got out of shape in the second eighth and he shut it off. Drama in the next pair, visible holeshot for Ari 0.1602 to 0.5268, Ari had the better sixty 0.9943 to 1.0105 but Micke was driving through shake and his FC made quite a violent move to the right and sideswiped the guardrail right at 330 feet which came up as 2.9035/192.58, shredding several yards of advertising boards in the process. 3.8738/304.57 to the eighth for Ari, clean straight run. Micke quite OK.

Very rapid clean-up and on the restart a 300-foot burnout for Ulf. Got a bit of a bounce on during the back-up. Then a fantastic match-up, one of the best TMFC pairs I have ever seen. Visible 0.1723 to 0.3130 holeshot for Ulf, Leif had the better sixty 0.9360 to 0.9572 and the better eighth 3.6421/336.24 to 3.6486/339.41. Good morning and welcome from Tierp Arena for our coverage of the Scandinavian Internationals brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car.

Our friends at Smart TV are providing the webcast for this event; a one-off €10 buys you today and tomorrow. For more details check out www.smarttv.se.

It's another beautiful day here at Tierp, not a cloud in the sky and the track looks just great. We are due to start with Sportsman eliminations; by the end of today all Sportsman car classes are planned to be down to eight and Sportsman bike classes down to four. Pro qualifying is scheduled for 09:50 and 13:50, I would imagine there are some short fingernails amongst the participants in the Pro Mod Bump Spot Contest. Good luck to you all. You can check out today's provisional running order, courtesy of Race Director Tomas Pettersson, via the Event Index page.

Two pieces of news from the pits overnight; firstly David Vegter is unfortunately out of Pro Mod for the weekend with two broken main bearings. Fingers crossed that David can get things back together for the FIA European Finals. Better news was that Pro Stock racer Thomas Lindström and his fiancée Nina were married in his pit yesterday evening. Our best wishes for a long and happy future to Thomas and Nina.

A big Good Morning to our dear friend Gittli Koller who is tuned in from Bavaria, good to know you're out there Gittli and we hope you are enjoying the coverage. Hello also to our Eurodragster.com colleagues Simon and Grace, to Barry and Alison and Wrighty and to all of our friends at the Stripe 21 Open Sport Nationals at Shakespeare County Raceway back in Blighty. Also a big Thank You to all those who have been in touch with compliments on the coverage so far and a thumbs-up to the guys on the Klotterplanket. Your comments are much appreciated, thank you.

Stay tuned and as soon as the first pair fire up we'll bring you all the news.
