15:50

The guess was correct, we have the Top Fuel Dragster semi-finalists in the pairing lanes.

15:50

The Sportsman racers are returning to the pits - I am guessing that this presages the Pro semi-finals when we restart.

15:45

Simon has posted a set of pit notes which you can check out via the Event Index page.

Junior Dragster eliminations round 2 winners

Perfect ET for Trine Fossum against Kristoffer August Nordin, 7.9007 on a 7.90 dial-in, well done Trine! Drama a few pairs later as Axel Jungvar's dragster was fishtailing and then spun round just past the eighth, Axel perfectly OK. That race to be re-run as it transpired that it had started to rain as the cars went down the track.

14:50

Comp Eliminator eliminations round 2 winners

Long burndown between John Bradshaw and Jan Ericsson, the Chief Starter waved them both into stage but neither moved so he signalled both of them to shut off and sent the pair of them back to the pits. I guess neither of them will do that again! Lars-Georg Johansson stood his Camaro up on its back bumper on his bye, broken wheelie bar the visible cause. The car landed pretty heavily.

John Bradshaw (7.95) and Jan Ericsson (7.49) both DQ, Andreas Arthursson (7.39) 7.1090/307.34, Odd Erik Fossum (7.15) 7.4411/359.27, Matti Rajamäki (8.74) 8.8161/243.68, Kenneth Feldthusen (7.25) 6.5282/325.50, Stig Olsson (7.66) 7.0278/264.71, Lars-Georg Johansson (8.16) no time bye (Matthas Strenström no show)

Micke Gullqvist 5.9812/391.87 def. Jan Gunnarsson 6.6855/356.67

Bye for Fredde. 1.0832 to sixty, 2.9323/198.38 to 330 feet and 4.5123/249.77 at the eighth, would that run be good enough for lane choice?

Kalle Lyrén 7.2947/294.44 def. Anders Larsson 7.5248/258.25

The answer is yes, Fredde gets lane choice. Anders visibly away first 0.0153 to 0.1143 but Kalle started to reel him in by sixty feet 1.1365 to 1.1454. Amders' motor sounded to hesitate briefly, Kalle ahead at the eighth 4.6556 to 4.7576.

Ulf Ögge 7.1539/303.71 def. Timo Savolainen 7.9428/274.11

This one was all Ulf from the get-go with the better sixty 1.1168 to 1.2029 and a big lead by the eighth 4.5810 to 5.0867. Timo plain outrun.

Svein Olav Rolfstad 6.4098/322.97 def. Ulf Nylen 6.8368/315.42

So, Jaska's 6.452 having been backed up for a new record, Svein Olav breaks it! 1.1363 to sixty and 4.2189/304.57 at the eighth. The race is on to back up both Jaska's and Svein Olav's runs now. Well done Svein Olav!

Nate Gagnon no time def. Job Heezen no time DQ

Nate away first 0.1464 to 0.1819, Job had the better sixty 1.1358 to 1.1863, JOb's bike was going great guns at the eighth 4.2874/292.52 to Nate's 4.4157/283.91 but the Godfather was fishtailing and then drifted left taking out both 1000 foot and both top end reflectors.

Peter away first 0.2450 to 0.3009 and the much better sixty 1.0423 to Kai's 1.1673, Kai shut ot off before the eighth. Peter stayed with it most of the way, 3.8908/329.47 to the eighth, and set a new European ET record backed up by the 5.702. Well done Peter, S&oum;ren and the Starta team!

Nils Lagerlöf 6.5923/337.50 bye, Ian King did not start

Ian's motor stoped as soon as it started, then the team tried again and the motor popped and banged and they shut it off. Nils took the bye, 1.0891 to sixty feet, 2.7522/210.36 at 330 feet, 4.2892/278.35 at the eighth and a new PB, well done Nils! Exorcised the guardrail sideswipe I think.

Rikard Gustafsson 6.5729/340.05 def. Peter Andersson-Ström 6.8097/321.81

Rikard away first 0.1055 to 0.1643, Peter had the etter sixty 1.0885 to 1.1392 but had to feather the throttle as the bike approached the centre line. Clear win for Rikard with an excellent ET.

13:40

FIA Pro Stock eliminations round 1

Richard Sundblom 6.7527/330.48 def. Sampsa Palos 6.9470/316.90

Burndown before this one, Sampsa went in first and got away first 0.0564 to 0.1221. Richard had the better sixty 1.0034 to 1.0355 and it was pretty much in the bag for Richard by the eighth 4.3448 to 4.4568.

Michael Malmgren 6.8067/327.47 def. Micke Callin 11.5926/98.99

Jimmy Ålund 6.7250/333.54 def. Ulf Wagnhester 6.9007/317.09

Not many people beat Jimmy away from the line but Ulf did the job 0.0871 to 0.1025. It was all Jimmy after that though, Ulf plain outrun. 1.0087 to sixty for Jimmy to Ulf's 1.0205, and 4.3354 to the eighth to Ulf's 4.4389.

Thomas Lindström 6.7519/334.16 def. Christian Sagelv 6.9455/319.15

Christian strapped a humongous 0.0816 to 0.2740 holeshot on Thomas, Thomas with a lot of ground to make up started to do so immediately with the better sixty 1.0124 to 1.0241 and the much better eighth 4.3679 to 4.4562. Still there was only 0.001, or 8.88 centimetres, in it at the stripe. Great race.

13:20

FIA Top Methanol Dragster eliminations round 1

Manty Bugeja 6.5885/277.66 bye

#1 qualifier bye for Manty. Tyres didn't light much in the burnout. Looked to roll the beams on launch, 0.9419 to sixty. 2.4044/262.14 to 330 feet then a bang, something came off the car and landed on the track about 400 feet out and chutes deployed. Again blower burst panel I guess.

Timo Habermann 5.5336/418.60 def. Krister Johansson 5.4296/423.86

Fantastic race won on a huge holeshot which not many do to Krister, 0.0425 for Timo to Krister's 0.1472. Krister to sixty in 0.9762 to Timo's quicker 0.9293, Krister had the better eighth 3.6068 at a huge 350.88 to Timo's 3.6432/334.78, 0.001 or 11.67 centimetres in it at the stripe.

Peter Schöfer 5.5005/413.79 def. Dave Wilson 5.6121/416.35

Grumpy visibly away first 0.0799 to 0.1016 but Peter has a much better sixty 0.9078 to 1.0443. Peter drove through flapping-tyre shake whilst Grumpy looked to lose a cylinder on the right side. 3.6081/335.61 at the eighth for Peter to Grumpy's 3.7672/346.15.

Chris Polidano 5.9751/423.86 def. Dennis Habermann 10.6440/141.04

Dennis got a slight jump 0.0300 to 0.0861, languid launch for Chris 1.1653 whilst Dennis hit shake by sixty 1.2541. Dennis pedalled, got back on it, hit more shake and got off it again. Chris to the eighth in 4.1138/333.75.

13:05

FIA Top Methanol Funny Car eliminations round 1

Arvid Grødem 5.9873/302.35 bye, Jonas Staflund no show

Jonas' problems on his last qualifying pass yesterday evidently insurmountable. Arvid deep-staged, 1.0239 to sixty, 2.5654/246.80 at 330 feet, 3.8024/320.09 then his chutes deployed and we heard that thud which likely signalled the blower burst plate blowing.

Danny Bellio 5.9009/404.49 def. Micke Larsson 12.1219.70.32

Judging by the RTs each was being polite and waiting for the other to go first, 0.4369 for Danny and 0.5080 for Micke. 1.0086 to sixty for Micke to Danny's 1.0971 with one brief pedal. Micke's burst panel blew and his chutes deployed before the eighth. 3.9436/322.20 to the eighth for Danny and into the next round.

Jonnie Lindberg 5.5925/422.54 def. Ulf Leanders 6.1980/399.11

Stunning run for Jonnie blowing his PB into next week. Jonnie away first 0.1063 to 0.1701, solid sixties 0.9621 for Jonnie to Ulf's 0.9742. Ulf then hit shake which he tried to drive through and really needed persuading to get off it as the FC made violent moves left and right. 3.7197/333.95 to the eighth for Jonnie as Ulf shut it off, Jonnie on a new European speed record, well done Jonnie!

Leif Andréasson 15.2685/55.64 bye

#1 qualifier bye for Leif. Shake then tyres up in smoke by the time he got to the Tree and got off the throttle about 150 feet out.

12:45

FIA Top Fuel Dragster eliminations round 1

Antti Horto 5.0697/377.09 def. Urs Erbacher 23.3207/24.73

Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs deep-staged and away first 0.1157 to Antti's 0.1643, Urs' tyres started to go up in smoke immediately reflected in his sixty 1.0170 to Antti's 0.8937. Urs' chute deployed a few feet out, I am guessing the burst panel triggered the auto shut-off and that ended his race. Antti pedalled for shake and then I think he realised that Urs wasn't there and that the race was there for the taking, got back on the throttle just past the eighth 4.0768/328.47.

Anita Mäkelä 5.5581/194.95 bye, Patrik Pers shut off

Patrik was shut off and pushed back before staging. 0.9559 to sixty for Anita, 2.3600/279.21 to 330 feet and off the throttle. 3.7918/235.09 at the eighth. A bang from the top end as Anita's car slowed, maybe the burst plate.

Micke Kågered 4.3539/379.21 def. Janne Ahonen 4.3697/391.59

Spots of rain in our puddle of reference as Micke and Janne pulled forward to stage, spotters out on the track making absolutely sure with one of Janne's crew waving at them to get back over the guardrail. Micke away first 0.0867 to Janne's 0.1510, Janne had the better sixty 0.8794 to 0.9175. Both hit shake, Micke pedalled once and Janne pedalled twice, Micke's advantage at the eighth perforce improved 3.3871/379.48 to 3.4516/400.00. 0.0800 between them at the stripe. So, #1 qualifier out in the first round two classes running.

Jari Halinen 4.2466/421.55 bye, Risto Poutiainen shut off

A brief break to run the jet dryer over the track and then Jari and Risto faced off. Then a shock as Risto's motor leaned out and stopped and the chutes fell out the moment he moved forward after starting. Risto's crew stood mystified but there was nothing to be done. Jari took the bye, 0.9284 to sixty, 2.3541/286.93 at 330 feet, 3.3751/400.30 at the eighth and then shut it off just about 900 feet out. Another Championship upset, now it's a case of how far Jari can go in eliminations.

FIA Pro Modified eliminations round 1

Marc Meihuizen 6.1438/379.48 def. Bert-Ove Olofsson 6.1811/378.42

Excellent race to start the session, Marc's all the way but it looked close. Marc away first 0.0288 to 0.1670, no sign of shake for either. Marc to sixty in 1.0247 to Bert-Ove's 1.0229 and the better 4.0413/297.36 to 4.0836/313.23. Both got close to the centre line in the second half but no dramas.

Jan Gunnarsson 7.6134/259.49 def. Urban Johansson 8.8402/183.18 DQ

Big -0.1288 for Urban handed this to Jan. 1.0434 to sixty for Jan, pedalling for shake, 4.9607/251.40 at the eighth and off it by then.

Tami Brander 6.6257/346.82 def. Ola Dahlblom 7.6150/274.67

Tami away first 0.1211 to 0.1185, 1.0258 to sixty to Ola's already-shaking 1.1082. Both had to pedal for shake, Ola's 'Vette turned hard left and hard right as he tried to get a grip on the track but had to give it up. 4.3146/269.33 to the eighth for Tami.

Micke Lindahl 6.1980/373.19 def. Bruno Bader 6.1229/367.35

Great race won on a holeshot. Micke away first 0.0444 to 0.1486, Bruno had the quicker sixty 0.9885 to 1.0166. Micke was headed for the centre line at the eighth 4.0550/291.11 to Bruno's quicker and faster 3.9830/296.87, looked like a close thing at about 1000 feet but Micke kept it off the line and took a Championship upset win.

Martin Lundkvist 6.0136/390.37 def. David Vegter 8.7626/170.62

Big 0.1211 to 0.3050 jump for Martin whose car doesn't show many war wounds after yesterday's barrier scrape. 1.0339 to sixty for David to Martin's 1.0438 but then David looked to hit shake then there was smoke from the right side of the motor. 4.0132/310.70 to the eighth for Martin, very straight pass.

Johan Lindberg 6.1504/386.64 def. Niclas Andersson 6.1689/377.62

Long burndown before this race, Niclas in first but away second 0.1023 to Johan's 0.0799. 0.9961 to sixty for Johan to Niclas' 0.9986, both drove through shake but I heard one pedal which I think was from Johan. Niclas quicker at the eighth 4.0654/298.67 to Johan's 4.0824/300.67 but Johan took the stripe.

Micke Gullqvist 6.0203/390.17 def. Mats Eriksson 6.2480/379.21

Daylight 0.0764 to 0.2270 holeshot for Mats but Gullan immediately started to make it up with a 0.9970 sixty to Mats' 1.0013. Mats had to drive through shake, no sign of shake for Micke who had the much better eighth 3.9752/305.95 to 4.1312.

Freddy Fagerström 6.1605/374.74 bye, Terje Håkonsen shut off

Shock as the #1 qualifier shut off before staging, catch can hose leak was the word. Freddy took the bye, 1.0518 to sixty, some shake but then smoke from the left side of the car as if a slick was rubbing. 4.0466/298.18 to the eighth, the smoke continuing all the way down the track. Clean-up in Freddy's lane and on the start line in Terje's lane.

If you have been enjoying this weekend's coverage then please join Your Reporter in thanking three guys who have contributed an awful lot to our live reports: timekeepers Oscar Lindgren, Petteri Haapaniemi and Joachim Larsson. Oscar, Petteri and Joachim have given us an incredible amount of help be it patiently hanging on a few seconds before clearing the timing screen, rapidly making Sportsman qualifying lists available, or answering questions both clever and dumb. They have been there for us, and therefore for all of you, since we got here on Wednesday. Thanks guys.

Now that we ahve been able to get them all in one place at the same time for a picture, we also owe a huge debt of gratitude to Assistant Race Director Tomas Pettersson, Assistant Race Director Anna Elgtorp, and Race Director Kjell Pettersson who have kept us up to date with running order changes and other organisational information. Again without these guys we would have a lot less in the way of accurate information to give you so a big Thank You to them.

Still raining outside, we'll keep you apprised.

09:00

This wasn't in the script - it has started to rain. A look at the radar shows a band of rain but clear behind. We're looking at a delayed start, then, but we will get going eventually. Stay tuned.

Good morning and welcome from Tierp Arena to our coverage of the Scandinavian Internationals brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car.

Smart TV are webcasting this event in a choice of High or Standard Definition; €10 will buy you today's eliminations in multi-camera High Definition. Obviously we have been unable to watch the webcast ourselves because we're watching the race in Eye Definition but we have heard a lot of good things about it. For more details check out www.smarttv.se.

It was quite misty overnight but that has cleared and it's now overcast with the occasional spot in the air.

The traditional raceday Good Morning to our US Correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman who are tuned in the New Hampshire Institute of Leisureology, hope you are having a good weekend guys. Good Morning also to our good friend, the definitely not fired Makus Münch who got in touch yesterday to wish us well, and to Herb Andrews and (I am guessing no relation) John Andrews who have E-Mailed us about the coverage. Thanks for your nice words guys, it means a lot.

We know that all of our friends in The Netherlands speak very good English and so understand our reports, but if you'd like to read something in your own tongue then you really should check out the reports and pictures posted by our good buddy Remco Scheelings on the Autosport.nl web site. You can check out Remco's Friday report by clicking here and his Saturday report by clicking here.

Your Reporter would like to say a big Thank You to Spencer Tramm who has been proof-reading the Pro qualifying lists. As our Pro lists are done manually and under great pressure it's easy to make mistakes especially in a class the size of Pro Modified, so it's useful to have them scrutinised by a third party. Spencer has fulfilled this function from the UK for the last couple of days and I am very grateful to him.

Racing is scheduled to start at 09:30 with the first round of Pro Modified followed by round two of Comp Eliminator, the opening ceremony, then the first rounds of all other FIA and UEM classes, then the second round of Pro Modified, then Sportsman eliminations.

Again during Pro classes we will try to update the report after each pair so keep hitting Refresh.

Stay tuned and when the firts pair fire up we will be back with the news.
