18:10

We have now posted today's pictures, which you can access via the event index page. Simon has some more pit notes to come but he is currently in an FIA meeting and then we are going to force dinner down him so tune back a bit later on for those.

16:30

It is still raining here at Mantorp Park so with a cut-off of 17:00 today the Race Director has called a halt. Today's curtailed Super Street session has been annulled. Tomorrow we will start with Sportsman qualifying and we also have the first two Pro sessions.

As the track is closed and we need this laptop elsewhere, we have stopped the webcam for today.

We are now going to work on today's pictures so stay tuned for those, and Simon will have some more pit notes for you.

15:40

Super Street qualifying top five during session 3:

  4. Jennifer Gustafsson 10.9302/208.62

This session was disrupted by rain. There were no changes to speak of before the rain came. Janne Carlsson consolidated his #1 spot in the first post-rain pair with a very consistent pass.

After four pairs, and with one pair of Super Street left in the lanes, it started to rain again so we are on hold.

13:50

We're on hold for more spots of rain but in the meantime you can check out Simon's first set of pit notes which are available via the event index.

07:40

Good morning and welcome from Mantorp Park. It's day one of qualifying for the Veidec Festival and we're here to bring you all the news in association with American Car Imports.

The Webster Race Engineering/Lex Joon Racing USA Tour 2009 webcam is on-line and is scheduled to post a picture every sixty seconds so long as the track is open.

Please note that the webcam will not be on-line whilst the track is closed as we do not have a dedicated webcam laptop with us. Please also note that the webcam is in the best location we could manage. If you were tuned in last year you will recall that there is no ideal location for the webcam here which does not involve our risking breaking necks, legs and/or arms and we figured that you would rather that we were at Mantorp Park than in hospital.

It's a pleasant morning here, the sun is shining through high overcast and it is already quite warm.

As ever, day one of the Veidec Festival is qualifying for Sportsman classes only. At least three cycles of qualifying are planned and I would not be surprised if another cycle were added if things go smoothly.

Please note that we will only be posting the top fives in qualifying in Sportsman classes as we do not have an on-line link to the timing system here. This means that we are typing the qualifying by hand in classes which run through very quickly.

Obviously all the report times during this event are local (i.e. CET) and all speeds we report this weekend are in km/h.

Qualifying will commence with Junior Dragster; stay tuned and as soon as the wheels start turning we'll bring you all the news. Simon is already out in the pits talking to racers so stay tuned also to the pit notes page for the latest word.
