21:30

At the drivers meet we understood that the morning will start at 10 with the sportsman classes that wasn't run today, Super Gas, Super Comp, Outlaw and Comp Eliminator. Then we will continue with the Pro Classes that didn't run today, Top Methanol Dragster, Top Methanol Funny Car and Top Fuel. After that we will get in to the 'normal' schedule, with 2 planned sessions for FIA and UEM

20:20

20:05

Top Fuel Dragster licencing

L. Tommy Rostgaard is back after his incident at Main Event. He is continuing his licensing and put down a 0,97 60 foot and shut off (probably exactly what he had been told)

And that is sadly all what was able to run today. The curfew is at 8oclock. We will try to sort pictures and do a gallery. As soon as we hear anything about the time schedule for tomorrow we will post it, of course!

Pro Modified qualifying session 1

RL. Ulf Rapp was close to hit the wall about 50 meters out, saved the situation, got out of control and hit the wall on the right side further out. He quickly got his shuts out and stabilized the car. We quickly got a report that Ulf is A-OK. Short break for cleaning up.

LL.Tami Brander left very slow and never really picked up any really big speed, luckily. Tami had to go over in the right lane, but the car never where very close to each other.
RL. Kaj-Erik Nieminen went up in smoke directly from the startline. He backpedalled and it looked like he saved it, but smoke continued to come, but I cant say if was from tires or engine. He got out of shape again getting in Tamis line and then spun and hit the wall hard at the top end. We are just waiting for report about Kaj-Erik.

13:40

We just got the word that racing will start at 14 and we will run one round of Sportsman classes before FIA and UEM classes. The temperature is rising fast now. According to many racers we have spoken to, this morning's rain might have been very good for the rest of the day. The track was cleaned and cooled down a bit. Yesterday was almost too hot says many. The teams are talking about over 30 degrees in the shade under the canopies during yesterday afternoon afternoon.

While waiting for the racing, we have posted some pit notes which you can check out via the event index page.

13:10

The rain has gone, we have blue skies around us, and the track crew are working very hard on the strip.

10:30

Good morning, and welcome to the almost-live report from FHRA Nitro Nationals at Alastaro. After having several days with very hot weather it is cloudy today and a drizzling rain makes it impossible to run. Original plan was 2 cycles of qualifying today, 12 and 16. Forecast says that it will clear up at 2 and we just have to wait and see what will happen.

Yesterday was all dedicated to sportsman racing and they had a great day in 28 degrees and sun. I should of course have been practicing my typing skills over the winter to be able to keep up with all classes, like Master Tog. But I havent, so like last year, I will do my best to give you reports from the FIA and UEM classes.
