Micke Kågered's crew were up and at 'em and ready to fire up as soon as it was decent. The pits dissolved into a yellow fug as the teams all warmed up their motors one after the other. Henrik Karlsson moved up to #5 in today's Super Comp Bike qualifying session. Pontus Dantanus only needed a 0.000 Reaction Time to win the Eurodragster.com / Speedflow Perfect Light Award but just to make sure of it he clocked 0.0000 for his 840 SEK. As seen from Race Control, Sweden disappeared after this burnout by Mikael Norén in Super Street qualifying. Kenneth Vik opened today's Pro session on his Pro Stock Bike. Fredrik Fredlund led Pro Stock Bike after session 1 and improved to take a clear lead in session 2. Anders Karling suffered this explosion during Supertwin qualifying but right now is at home swapping out his engine and will be back tomorrow. Supertwin polesitter Svein Olav Rolfstad was shaking things off our table in Race Control. Peter Andersson Ström is currently seventh in Top Fuel Bike on his first outing of the year. Christer Wiklund left this collector behind during Pro Stock qualifying. Kenneth Söderström's Pro Stock was knocking on the door of the sixes today. Tommy Leindahl's recently-imported Pro Stock took a trip into the gravel trap in the second Pro Stock qualifying session. It wouldn't be the Veidec Festival without Monica Öberg competing in Top Fuel Dragster. More and more Pro Mods are sprouting these nose extensions including the Old 51 driven by #2 qualifier Niclas Andersson. Leif Andréasson got his Top Methanol FC down the track whilst others had problems and he has a clear lead in the qualifying standings. Rob Turner leads Top Methanol Dragster qualifying with a Personal Best... ...the Turner Motorsport crew were understandably ecstatic. Bousinis Haralambos has made the long trip from Greece and is currently sixth in Pro Stock Bike. Pro Stock Bike #8 qualifier Gabbi Nikokovska is in her first year in the class. Ulf Ögge's mean-sounding Buell is second in Pro Stock Bike. Former Top Fuel Dragster racer Tommy Möller is fifth in Supertwin. Per Bengtsson's Supertwin The Beast is another regular remover of items from nearby tables and shelves. This is Sverre Dahl's first race with his Top Fuel Bike since the 2006 FIA European Finals. Eddie Corr, who doesn't speak Finnish, is calling the shots on the Top Fuel Dragster driven by Jari Halinen, who doesn't speak much English. Yrjo Wallius got this heavy old Stock/Superstocker to pull a 0.004 reaction time in today's qualifying session. Mats Eriksson is on a new European Pro Mod speed record of 377.36 kmh or 234.48 mph. The Lindberg Brothers show a lot of promise in the practical joke department, placing a New Generation sticker within the pit of fellow Pro Mod racer Freddy Fagerström. Jan-Egil Kvalvik is helping to lead the Nitrous resistance movement in Pro Mod. Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy Robinson's Pro Mod Stude has also sprouted a nose extension. Andy is on his second motor of the weekend and it's only day oen for the Pros. Jan Gunnarsson made his first runs in his new Cadillac Pro Mod and by all accounts was jumping for joy when he got out of the car. Eric Teboul sideswiped the guardrail during today's first Top Fuel Bike qualifying session... ...but cosmetics apart there seemed to be no ill effect as Eric was back this afternoon. Peter Svensson set new European Top Fuel Bike eighth-mile records of 4.130 seconds and 296.58 kmh and quicker and faster runs of 4.080 and 303.10 await back-up. Peter Schöfer and Timo Habermann had a storming Top Methanol Dragster qualifying match-up in which the lead changed hands more than once. Paul Ingar Udtian and the Islanders Top Methanol Dragster team are determined to run again tomorrow after the dragster went through the gravel trap and rolled this morning.
