Neat and tidy gas masks in Stig Neergard's Top Fuel Dragster pit.

Longtime race fans will know whose cars always feature a four-leaf clover.

Track announcer Christer Abrahamson and Track Manager Fredrik Ström. Talk about contrasts...

We need to have a word with Top Methanol FC racer Jörgen Johnsson about Andy Green and Thrust SSC genuinely breaking the sound barrier.

Freddy Fagerström was booked to run his TMFC at Press Day but towed back to the pits when he saw the Pro Mods and Pro Stocks struggling.

Micke Kågered's Top Fuel shirt emporium.

Michael Malmgren explaining Pro Stock to a TV crew. Both presenter and cameraman later got a ride in the Eagle Racing two-seater dragster.

L-O Jonsson opened the press conference and then handed over to...

...Christer Abrahamson who has a real gift for presenting drag racing.

Now, is that Jörgen Johnsson or Austin Coil?

Christer and Freddy Fagerström traded witticisms which your reporter unfortunately could not understand. Everyone else laughed though.

Micke Kågered explained Top Fuel and there was a gasp when he told the media how quickly the Bahco Express accelerates.

Janne Ahonen talked about his Top Fuel exploits in Finnish and then an Eagle Racing colleague translated into Swedish.

Christer and Ludvig Perés discussed Junior Dragster before Ludvig took to the track.

The new book about the history of Swedish drag racing is being launched this weekend and it looks just great, packed with text and superb pictures.

Jörgen's gone, Pro Stock racer Jimmy Ålund's going.

Ludvig opened the drag racing display and his brother saw him into stage...

...team mate Mats Eriksson followed with the Green Goblin Pro Mod and aborted the run after bad shake.

Same story for Jimmy: shake off the line and an aborted pass, rolling to a halt right on the finish line.

Michael was next up with the same result.

Roger Johansson pulled a storming burnout in his Pro Mod...

...but then got about a metre before the tyres shook.

Ludvig made two passes and consistency was the name of his game with a brace of 8.9s.

One of the publishers of the Swedish drag racing history took an 8.1-second ride in the two-seater dragster...

...I wonder if the book will be recalled for the addition of a chapter about passenger rides?

The Eagle Racing team are a credit to the sport, always professionally turned out and they worked very hard today.
