Christer grabbed a word with Janne Carlsson who is as we said perfectly OK. "Everything came out of the bottom of the engine", said Janne, "oil got under one of the tyres and I could not help hitting the guardrail". The good news on Janne's Nova is that apart from some damage to the front of the body, everything else is OK.

The track crew are finishing up on the clean-up so we should be on our way again very soon.

10:30

We're on a hold in session two of Super Street qualifying after NDRS Champion Janne Carlsson had a crash in his Nova. The engine dropped oil at about half track which quickly got under the tyres and pitched the car into the guardrail. The Nova then rebounded off the guardrail and spun to a stop. Janne is perfectly OK, no word yet on the Nova. The cleanup is estimated to take half an hour so stay tuned and as soon as we get going again we'll bring you all the latest news.

10:25

Your reporter doesn't get to see Stock/Superstock unless he goes to an NDRS event and it was as entertaining as ever with huge wheelstands from beautifully-prepared doorslammers. Out of a field of twenty four we have five 8.9s and five breakouts, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a full field of 8.9s by the end of the day as racers get a handle on the track which is having its first real exercise this year.
