We had a couple of Championships decided here at Shakespeare County Raceway, along with a lot of other great highlights. Let's take you through today's action in association with American Car Imports.

The Fuel and Alcohol altereds came out to play twice today; the Cacklefest had to be cancelled because the teams were all working busily to make the first round of racing. In the first session, Neil Townson (Alcohol) lined up against Mickey Moore (Fuel), Neil got there first 7.849/175.10 to Mickey's 8.875/166.67. Next up were Pete Radcliffe (Alcohol) and Mark Needham (Alcohol), Pete clocked 7.853/173.08 which judging by his crew's reaction was a new PB whilst Mark's engine sounded off-song and he recorded 9.863/114.80. Clive Mechaell (Fuel) didn't appear yesterday but made up for it in the first session with a storming 6.818/205.48, which was by no means straight, Jim Seward (Fuel) in the other lane shut off to an 11.156/75.00.

In session two, Pete Radcliffe and Mickey Moore paired up and Pete got there first with an early shut off 8.652/120.32 to Mickey's 9.105/164.23. Next up were Clive Mechaell and Jim Seward, Clive blasted out a 6.763/203.62 whilst Jim's car shed a couple of pieces and Jim got off the throttle to a 9.596/81.97.

Roger Goring put in two passes in the Firestorm Jet FC, a 6.329/247.25 at lunchtime and at the end of he day a 6.337 also at 247.25. Tony Baker's second run of the weekend in the Fireforce 1 Jet FC was a 7.104/228.43.

Paul Hensher took the 2003 Outlaw Anglia Championship with a victory in today's second session. The Outlaw Anglia action went as follows:

Session 1

Pete Ashworth 9.365/133.93 bye (Matt Cooper broke)
Rob Stone 9.900/130.43 def. Cliff Griffin 10.24/108.43
Paul Hensher 11.102/89.11 bye
Gary McCormack 9.227/144.23 def. Aidan Kenny 11.846/112.50

Session 2

Pete Ashworth 9.245/133.93 def. Gary McCormack 9.513/116.28
Paul Hensher 9.047/147.54 def. Rob Stone 9.727/134.33

Session 3

Paul Hensher 8.737/152.54 def. Pete Ashworth 8.878/146.10

Lorraine Beale won the Costume Contest with yesterday's Elvira-type outfit, very fetching it was too. Lorraine won a trophy and promoter Lee Child put up four 2004 Excitement Nationals tickets to both Pete Ashworth and Paul Hensher's Outlaw Anglia teams who appeared in costume all weekend, sometimes different costumes every session!

James Murray took the 2003 National Street Car Championship in this afternoon's final session, Gary Leece is runner-up.

Tony Clark clocked 8.843/155.71 on Paul Rose's Pro Stock Bike this morning and an 8.9 this afternoon. Paul Rose told us that he was very impressed with Tony's progress and Tony was enjoying himself very much although he initially said that he was trying to ride the Pro Stocker as if it were his Super Street Bike.

Custom Car Street Eliminator racer Trevor Kitney took Race Director Richard Warburton for a 10.89 ride-along yesterday, and a 10.91 with Richard's wife Rachel his morning. "It went quicker with fifteen stones of useless ballast!", says Richard. "A real big Thank You to Trevor, a real nice bloke and a great ambassador for the sport. It just goes to reinforce my belief that CCSE is the class to be in!"

Today's pictures are now posted, you can access them from the Event Index page. We have also updated the Costume photo gallery with a couple more pictures including Lorraine as herself.

That's the end of our summaries of the Halloween Showdown, thanks for tuning in. This is Eurodragster's last race report of 2003; we wil be testing a new laptop/webcam set-up at the Flame and Thunder Show at Santa Pod Raceway on Saturday 1st November.
