We have now posted a couple of pictures from the track, including one of the work on the new return road. You can get to the pictures from the race update index.

So that's it for today, let's hope for better luck at Santa Pod Raceway tomorrow.

Welcome back. Well, what can we say - it's still freezing cold, it's still pouring with rain, and the computer pumping out music on the PA became obsessed with Shania Twain as the morning went on, so Ozzy of the Tech Crew went and had a little word with it, along the lines of Ctrl-Alt-Del.

There is absolutely no chance of any racing taking place here today. The track is underwater and the rain is still falling down, with snow reportedly on the way. Welcome to the UK drag racing season!

Sharkman is currently at the Top End with his digital camera getting some pictures of the new return road which has been put in over the winter; we shall post these pictures later.

Good morning and welcome to Shakespeare County Raceway, and our first update of the year brought to you in association with e-manumit.com and High Performance Heaven. Welcome on board and thanks, guys!

It's freezing cold, it's pouring with rain, and they're playing Shania Twain on the PA...does it get any worse?

There are maybe twenty cars and bikes in the pits. Almost all are covered over and the crews are huddling in their trailers and motorhomes.

There is a sizeable Wild Bunch presence, Roy Wilding's ex-Hemi Hunter slingshot poking its nose out from its cover, and Crazy Chris Hartnell's "Backdraft" slingshot was amongst the first to arrive. Derek Annable is here waiting for his drive in Doug Bond's Top Methanol Dragster, he tells us that he will be running a limited series of dates this year. We've also seen Chris Johnson pull in with his Pro ET car, the "Crossfire" Camaro, and the Huxleys' "Top Banana" roadster.

On two wheels, Jerry Collier is all set up with his Jade Racing supertwin, he says that he has had the engine apart and rebuilt it since the last Run What You Brung at Santa Pod Raceway, during which an engine mount broke.

There you have it folks, that's about all that can be said at the moment. Check back later on and as soon as there's anything to report, we'll bring it to you.
